Love on a platter

I have sworn off sugar for the time being, but before I turned up the volume on my healthy lifestyle I treated myself to one last guilty pleasure; cake pops. I know that traditional cake pops have a stick in them, but this time I skipped the stick. It was really a lot easier and went a lot faster to make them :) If you want to learn how to make them, keep reading below.

Take 13 chocolate cookies with chocolate filling and ground them up into a fine powder using a food processor or by hand. I use the type ‘Ballerina Kladdkaka’, but if you can’t get a hold of Swedish cookies you could use the Oreos with chocolate cream or any other type of chocolate cookie with chocolate filling that you prefer. Add 50 grams of cream cheese to the crumbs and form a nice dough using your fingers.
Form small balls, about 20 of them, and put them on a plate and store them in the freezer.

Melt 200 grams of dark chocolate over some hot water. I use the Marabou Dark chocolate because I think it’s the perfect amount of cacao. I would recommend that you do use a darker chocolate, because otherwise the pops might be overly sweet. Once the chocolate is melted, take the cookie balls from the freezer and roll them in the melted chocolate. Sprinkle some sprinkles on top while the chocolate is still soft. Store the cake pops in the fridge, or in the freezer if you have some left over that you want to save for a later occasion.

This is just a lovely treat that I can’t keep my hands off of, so to be sure I ‘stay on the health wagon’ I won’t be making them for a while :P If you love creamy, chocolaty goods you really need to give these a try!
