Hejsan! Hej på er! Hoppas ni har en trevlig söndag :) Här kommer ytterligare en video från YouTube som jag tycker är oerhört bra och inspirerande! Gary Yourofsky är aktivist för djurs rättigheter och arbetar mycket med att resa runt och undervisa människor om veganism och sättet vi människor behandlar djur. Han är väldigt rak på sak men vad jag älskar med honom är att han har svar på precis ALLT. För alla er där ute som är minst sagt skeptiska till att den veganska kosten är den som egentligen är menad för oss människor och tycker att vi är överlägsna andra djurarter och därför har rätt att göra dem till vår föda borde definitift lyssna på vad Gary har att säga. Egentligen har jag inte ord nog att på ett värdigt sätt beskriva denna mans superkrafter och vilken inverkan denna video har haft på mig. Ni måste helt enkelt se det själva! Trots att jag själv redan valt att gå över till en vegansk kost kan jag se denna föreläsning om och om igen!

Godkväll! Sitter och klickar mig runt på YouTube och hittade en kanal vid namn Mango Island Mamma som handlar om hennes unga sons liv som rå vegan. Jag tror att många har starka åsikter om vad barn bör och inte äta under de första åren av uppväxten, och eftersom jag inte läst något alls om näringslära i förhållande till barns utveckling så tänker jag inte uttala mig om vad som är rätt och fel. Dock tyckte jag att det var intressant att se hur denna glada, vackra lilla pojke är helt tokig i den mat han äter och att se leendet i hans ansikte när han får en grön smoothie, frukt eller sallad. Många föräldrar får tvinga i sina barn grönsaker och i det här fallet ber han bara om att få mer och mer.
Vad jag ville dela är en intervju som Mango Island Mamma gjorde med en kvinna som heter Gabriella, vars mamma lät henne och hennes bror växa upp på en rå vegankost och hur det påverkade henne fram till idag. Hon pratar om uppväxten, om hur hon i tonåren ville undersöka hur "alla andra" åt och hur hon i collegeåldern valde att gå tillbaka till sina veganska rötter efter att ha testat sig fram. Detta är en mycket sevärd och tänkvärd video i alla aspekter, och jag tänkte jag skulle dela den med er.

Imorse såg jag en väldigt tänkvärd video på YouTube som Fully Raw Kristina laddat upp. Den handlar om food bullies och hon pratar om några av sina erfarenheter av motstånd från andra som hon genomgått under de 9 år som hon ätit raw. Jag tyckte att denna video var väldigt intressant, speciellt med hur hon beskriver en typisk food bullie i början av videon. Det stämde mycket bra in på det jag själv upplevde för några veckor sedna. Missade du det inlägget kan du läsa det här.
Anledningen till att jag ville dela denna video med er är att den passar in på så många av oss. Om man på något vis utmärker sig med den kost man äter och bryter mönstret från "standardkosten" så ä det ofta man möter motstånd från andra. Gör man olika matval för sin hälsas skull kan det oftas ses som att man inte har någon "giltig" anledning. Detta har jag sett i flera olika situationer, vare sig man är vegan, vegetarian eller tex LCHF. Att inte ta en kaka till kaffet bara för att man inte vill äta socker eller kolhydrater blir ofta inte accepterat hos andra i fikasällskapet utan man får kommenterer som "Men EN kan du väl ta? Det gör väl inget!". Men att istället vara glutenintollerant gör att man får en "giltig" anledning att avstå.
Jag tycker det är väldigt synd att när man på något vis prioriterar sin hälsa genom den kost man äter så är det så mycket svårare att förstå för andra än att man tex tränar. Och som sagt, oavsett på vilket sätt man sticker ut från mängden. Det viktigaste och bästa du kan göra är att stå fast vid dina beslut och prioritera dig själv framför andras åsikter. Säj "Nej tack" till kakan om du inte vill ha den istället för att låta dig övertalas. Känn dig säker i dig själv och i dina beslut. Bara du vet vad som är bäst för dig och bara du ska få bestämma vad du väljer att äta. Din kost och din hälsa är inte en demokrati. Stå på dig!

Hej på er! Idag vill jag dela med mig av en kort film som jag hittade på YouTube. Det är en mini-dokumentär om vad den veganska livsstilen innebär, med fokus på miljön och hållbar utveckling, både för människor och djur. Kände mig oerhört berörd av denna film och jag hoppas den kan inspirera och informera även er som läser min blogg.
Störst fokus i denna film läggs på framtidstro och positiv utveckling, samt hur vegansimen har förändrat och förädlat människors liv. Men andra delen innehåller några råa klipp, men försök att åtminstonne lyssna på vad de har att säga ifall du behöver titta bort. Jag kan själv öppet erkänna att jag mår illa av att se hur djur behandlas för att bli vår föda och att jag vänder bort blicken. Men för mig är detta ett bevis för att jag inte vill vara med att stödja denna hemska industri, och om du känner som jag kan det vara dags att tänka på hur dina matvaor ser ut och vad du väljer att stötta med dina pengar och handlingar.
Hej allihopa! För en gångs skull beslöt jag mig för att fira kanelbullens dag :) Nybakta kanelbullar är bland det godaste som finns, men ofta känns det besvärligt att göra. De i butiken är heller ingen hitt i jämförelse med en ”riktig” hembakad bulle, och nu när jag gått över till vegansk kost är det nästan omöjligt att hitta bra fikaalternativ i butiker eller på café eftersom praktiskt taget ALLT innehåller mjölkprodukter eller ägg.
Först hade jag tänkt skippa bullar helt och hållet, men sen bestämde jag mig för att idag var ett ypperligt tillfälle att göra veganska bullar för första gången. Och de blev superbra! Till och med Carl gillade dem och sa att de smakade som ”vanliga” bullar, så för mig är det ett gott betyg! :D Så här kommer receptet!
Till ca 20 bullar: 75 g mjölkfritt smör 2,5 dl mandelmjölk 25 g jäst för söta degar 2 msk socker Lite kardemumma ca 6 dl vetemjöl + extra till utbakning
Smält smöret i en gryta och tillsätt sedan mandelmjölken. När blandningen är fingervarm, för i sockret, kardemumman och den söndersmulade jästen.
Tillsätt mjölet lite åt gången. När du har en fast och fin deg, låt den jäsa 40 minuter under en duk.
Knåda degen och kavla ut den på ett mjölat bakbord. Bre på smör och krydda med socker och kanel efter eget tycke och smak. Vik degen på mitten och skär den i remsor, ca 2 cm i bredd. Snurra eller rulla remsorna till bullar och placera dem i formar på en plåt. Låt sedan bullarna jäsa ca 30 minuter under duk.
Pensla bullarna med lite havregrädde och strö på pärlsocker. Grädda i 250°C i 8-10 minuter. Strö över hackade hasselnötter, gör man det innan gräddningen är det lätt att de bränns (learn by my misstakes!).
Sen är det bara att njuta!
I vanliga fall brukar jag enbart promota "nyttiga" recept här på bloggen och i vanliga fall håller jag mig borta både från gluten och socker. Men en sats bullar per år gör mig inte så mycket. Det är ju ändå inte något jag proppar i mig varje dag :) Har ni ätit någon kanelbulle idag?

Hej på er! Idag vill jag uppmärksamma några produkter till er som lider av eksem. Som tur är har jag själv aldrig drabbats, men av vad jag har sett hos personer i min omgivning som har eksem så är det något man helst vill slippa.
En av mina vänner Alexandra Björsell driver bloggen Ecosmart och hon tipsade om några naturliga produkter som hjälpte henne markant med att få bukt med sina eksem. Märket heter Secuvie och som sagt är deras produkter helt naturliga. Jag tror att det absolut bästa är att alltid använda naturliga produkter eller ”botemedel” när det är något som inte står rätt till. Att kleta in huden i kemikalier och hoppas att det hjälper är inte något som känns rätt. Därför ville jag passa på att tipsa om dessa produkter ifall någon av er läsare tampas med eksem. Igår blev jag utsatt för min första ”veganattack”. Och man kan definitivt säga att jag inte var redo för den… Som ni säkert vet så håller jag på att gå över till vegansk kost, och under den senaste månaden har jag ätit ungefär 95% vegansk kost. Igår var vi ute på after work där jag har praktik och mannen bredvid mig frågar varför jag valt att vara vegan. Hans fråga låter som om den kommer av intresse så jag svarar att jag gör det för hälsans skull. Att jag har läst mycket om det och ju mer jag läser desto tydligare blir det att det vore den bästa kosten för kroppens skull. Jag nämnde också att efter det jag läst så tror jag att människor faktiskt inte egentligen är menade att att äta kött.
Där trampade jag visst på en öm tå. Han avbryter mig och säger: "Men så kan du ju inte säga". Jag svara då att allt jag har läst tyder på det och han frågar efter detaljer. Jag säger då att vi tex har platta tänder (jämför våra tänder med något annat djur som äter kött så märks en tydlig skillnad). Han slänger snabbt in orden: "Vi har köttätartänder också". (Jag antar att han menar våra hörntänder). Sen säger jag också att människan har ett långt tarmsystem, vilket växtätare har. Våra tarmar är ca 12 ggr så långa som vår överkropp, vilket gör att kött har väldigt svårt att passera genom dem. Jag säger att djur som äter kött har ett tarmsystem som är mellan 3-6 ggr sin överkropps längd. Det tycker jag är en tydlig skillnad, men han säger: "Men vilka köttätare jämför du med då? Människan är en omnivor, en allätare, precis som björnen". Han säger vidare att det är skillnad på tex tigrar och katter som BARA äter kött. Han sa även att ger du en katt veganmat så kommer den dö (vilket inte är sant, för det finns både veganmat för katter och hundar på marknaden och jag vet både katter och hundar som levt många år på veganmat. Men jag säger ingenting om det. Jag tycker inte heller att katter ska vara veganer btw).
Jag svarar att det jag läst pratar om köttätare i allmänhet. Han säger då något i stil med: Ja om du läser ”veganlitteratur” så är jag övertygad om att det är det som står. Men det är väldigt stort att säga att så (att människor egentligen inte är gjorda att äta kött). Man kan inte säga att det ena är rätt eller fel.
Jag känner mig väldigt påhoppad och som att jag måste försvara mina matval. Det märks tydligt att han inte håller med mig och att han inte vill lyssna på vad jag har att säga. Stämningen runt bordet är stämd och jag vill inte göra det värre, så jag tiger. Jag är så klart omtumlad över hans sätt att reagera och ge sig på mig. Han säger att ”man kan inte säga att det ena är rätt eller fel” men samtidigt säger han att jag inte får säga som jag gör, alltså antyder han att jag har fel och han har rätt. Det blir en spänd tystnad och ingen av oss säger något mer om ämnet. Han går tillochmed och sätter sig vid det andra bordet efter att förrätten är avklarad.
Det här är något som tynger mig och som jag blivit ordentligt upprörd över. Jag vet att många ser snett på veganer, och alla har rätt till sin egen åsikt. MEN, ställ inte en fråga till någon som du inte vill höra svaret på. Han kunde uppenbarligen inte acceptera min filosofi och var heller inte redo att lyssna. Jag försökte inte ÖVERTALA honom om att han ska sluta äta kött. Alla får göra sina egna val. MEN jag körde inte heller över hans matfilosofi, som han gjorde med min.
Jag var otroligt oförberedd på denna attack men nu i efterhand när jag hunnit tänka på det så vet jag precis vad jag borde ha sagt (är det inte typiskt att det alltid blir så?)
Så här kommer mitt svar på tal, vad jag önskar att jag kunde sagt i går kväll, ostört utan att han avbröt mig.
Efter vad jag har läst så tror jag att människans kropp inte är menat att äta animaliska produkter. Du behöver inte vara överens med mig, men det är så jag ser på saken. Du säger att vi är omnivorer som björnen. Visst, människan är en allätare, det finns inga tvivel om det, MEN bara för att vi KAN äta något så är inte det samma sak som att vi BORDE äta det. Grisar äter tex griskött om vi matar dem med det, men tror du att de egentligen är menade att äta varandra?
När jag säger att vi har platta tänder, som alla andra växtätare, inflikar du att vi har köttätartänder åxå. Jag antar att du syftar på hörntänderna som är en aning spetsigare än de andra. Du säger att vi är allätare som björnen. Jämför människans hörntänder med björnens. Tycker du att det är samma sak? Om man försöker tänka logiskt på saken, borde det inte finnas en anledning till att människan behöver vapen och fällor för att kunna fånga och döda djur? Vi är inte snabba nog att springa ikapp en kanin eller ett rådjur, och jag tror knappast våra hörntänder fungerar speciellt bra till att döda ett djur genom att tex bita av deras halspulsorder så de förblöder.
En annan parantes är att vi använder ju kniv och gaffel när vi äter vårt kött, som är fint styckat i behändiga portionsbitar. Vilken annan köttätare gör det? Mer logiskt vore att våra hörntänder är spetsigare av den anledningen att göra det enklare för oss att äta sådant som rötter och nötter som har ett hårdare skal. Jämför tex med apor som gorillan.
Tillbaka till tarmsystemet. Vårt långa tarmsystem, som finns hos alla växtätare, gör att det är väldigt tungt för kroppen att ta hand om kött. Frukter och grönsaker tar 1-2 timmar för kroppen att förbränna och ta hand om, medan en bit kött kan vara i vårt tarmsystem i upp till 7 dagar (!) beroende på hur snabb förbränning individen har. För mig är det ett tydligt tecken på att våra kroppar är bättre anpassade till att äta växter, även om vi kan äta kött.
Något som jag också tycker är viktigt, men som vi inte gick in på i vår korta diskussion, är sjukdomar. De absolut flesta sjukdomar (som vissa cancerformer, hjärtattacker, e-coli, benskörhet mfl) uppkommer främst genom förträning av animaliska produkter, och de är väldigt sällsynta hos folk som är veganer. Människor från den asiatiska landsbygden är det folkslag som anses vara hälsosammast i världen. Deras allvarliga sjukdomar är nästan obefintliga och dessutom lever de längst. Deras kost består oftast helt av växter (främst ris och grönsaker) och har gjort det under alla tider. Borde inte det tyda på något?
Jag har valt att gå över till den veganska livsstilen av hälsoskäl, för att av den forskningen som jag läst verkar det vara det optimala för människokroppen. Andra är veganer för att de inte gillar smaken av kött, eller för att de är djurvänner och inte vill stödja massuppfödandet och massmorden på djur. Alla veganer har sina egna själ och vissa är pushiga och försöker övertala alla de ser till att bli vegan. Jag är inte sån. Jag tycker att var och en har rätt att fatta sina egna beslut. Jag tror också att om man inte har något som helst intresse av att vara vegan så är chansen stor att det inte har förståelse för det, precis som mannen jag pratade med. Vi är uppfödda med att människan ska äta kött, ägg och mjölk och det är mönster som är väldigt svåra att bryta, speciellt om man inte vill eller inte vill utbilda sig om ämnet. För att bli vegan, och verkligen hålla den livsstilen, tror jag att det måste vara ens eget beslut. För att man vill ha en förändring. Inte på grund av påtryckningar från annat håll. Så är det med alla förändringar. Vill man det egentligen inte själv så kommer det antagligen inte hålla så bra.
Mjölk och ägg är det sista jag kort vill röra i detta (ofantligt långa) inlägg. ”Man ska dricka mjölk för det är nyttigt! Det innehåller kalcium, det får man starka ben av!” Ungefär så är den rådande uppfattningen i vårt samhälle. Men vad ÄR egentligen mjölk? Kon producerar mjölk till sina kalvar när de fötts. Mjölken innehåller en massa näringsämnen och hormoner som ska hjälpa kalvarna att växa sig stora och starka. Precis samma sak är det med oss människor. Nyblivna mammor produceras mjölk till sina bäbisar för att hjälpa dem växa. Så varför ska vi dricka kalvarnas mjölk? Ämnena där i är menat för kalvarna, inte för oss. Dessutom producerar kor endast mjölk när de kalvat. Sedan slutar produktionen, precis som hos människor. Därför tvångsinseminerar vi kossor så att de föder nya klavar, och ger oss mer mjölk att sälja i butik. (That sounds fair, right?)
Så vad är anledningen till att vi ska dricka komjölken? Vore det inte mer logiskt att vi drack människomjölk som faktiskt är utformat till oss? (Fy vad äckligt! tänker nog de flesta. Hur är då komjölken annorlunda? Egentligen?) Kalcium. Det är nog det svar man oftast får. Det är sant att mjölk innehåller kalcium och att kalcium är bra för ett starkt skelett. MEN forskning som gjorts visar att mjölk är så pass surt för kroppen att vi på något sätt måste återställa PH balansen i kroppen. För att återställa balansen behövs fosfor, och den enda källan till det är kalciumfosfat som finns i vårt skelett. Så när vi dricker mjölk tvingas våra kroppar TA kalciumfosfat från våra ben. Fosforn neutraliserar PH-värdet och kalciumet blir en restprodukt som vi kissar ut. Alltså tar mjölken kalcium från vårt skelett, inte ger det till dem. Om ni inte tror mig så finns det en massa studier som visar att de länder med högst benskörhet i världen är samma länder som dricker mest mjölk, och de länder med lägst benskörhet är de länder som nästan inte dricker någon mjölk alls. För mig går det alltså inte ihop att vi människor ska ta kalvarnas näring för att ge oss själva svagare skelett och dessutom i många fall för tidig utveckling från de hormoner som finns i mjölken. Dessutom kan man få i sig mer än tillräckligt med kalcium genom grönsaker, som tex selleri.
Och vad är EGENTLIGEN ägg? En hönas mens. Enough said.
Nu har jag fått sagt det jag ville säga för den här gången. Jag vill upprepa att jag inte på något sätt vill tvinga andra till att bli veganer. Jag har ingenting emot att andra äter kött, men det här är MINA anledningar till varför jag valt att byta till vegankost. Oavsett vad man tycker om veganer så tyder forskning på att det mest LOGISKA är att vi är menade till att vara veganer. Och logik är något som jag har svårt att ignorera.
Det viktigaste av allt, och den egentliga anledningen till varför jag blev så upprörd igår är INTE att denne man inte tycker att veganism är ”rätt” eller att han inte överensstämmer med det jag läst. Utan den egentliga anledningen är SÄTTET HAN BEHANDLADE MIG PÅ. Ställ inte en fråga till någon om du inte vill höra vad de har att säga. Du behöver inte hålla med om vad de säger, men du borde ändå låta dem tala till punkt och respektera att de ser saker på ett annorlunda sätt än du. Alla har rätt till sin egen åsikt. Det betyder alltså inte att bara DU har rätt att tycka som du tycker, utan även att den du pratar med rätt att till sin åsikt och att få säga sitt.

Eftersom jag försöker undvika gluten så använder jag pasta av råris, men det går så klart bra att använda vanlig pasta :) Om du vill piffa till receptet lite extra så krydda med franska eller italienska örter, eller varför inte ha lite grön sparris till? Det tänker jag nog testa nästa gång!

Hej allihopa! Här kommer ett litet inlägg från hotellrummet på Mallorca :D Satt å nätshoppade lite så här på kvällskanten när jag hörde en liten katt jama utanför balkongen. Utomlands finns det ju alltid en massa hemlös, magra katter som springer omkring, vilket gör ont i ett kattälskande hjärta som mitt! Snodde med lite lax från frukostbuffén imorse som jag gick ut och gav honom, så ikväll fick han åtminstonne en ordentlig middag
Men, tillbaka till nätshoppingen :) Hittade en supersnygg blazer som nyss kommit in på Gina Tricots webbshop, en svart med synliga silverdragkedjor på fickorna. Så snygg! :D Jag har verkligen en förkärlek till kavajer, trots att jag inte själv bär dem så ofta. Att människan genetiskt sätt är byggd för att vara vegan är något som det hos mig inte råder det minsta tvivel om (jag kommer skriva mer om varför i ett annat inlägg, så håll utkik!). På sistone har jag gjort en hel del research och det blir snabbt uppenbart den kost våra kroppar är konstruerade efter är långt ifrån den kost som idag anses vara standard. Jag tror att många är väldigt negativt inställda till en vegansk livsstil, och jag tror framförallt att detta beror på rädsla och lathet. Man känner sig för bekväm vid sina redan invanda mönster och vill helst inte ändra nått om man slipper. Därför är det väldigt lägligt att inte läsa på om kostens inverkan på människokroppen. Släpper man inte in ny information så kan man lugnt vandra vidare i samma banor som man alltid gjort, vare sig det är det mest fördelaktiga för kroppen eller inte.
Jag är en väldigt nyfiken människa och har stor empatiförmåga. Jag gillar att försöka sätta mig in i andras val och situationer och försöka förstå varför det väljer att göra de val de gör. det var så jag snubblade in på veganspåret. Och ju mer jag läser, desto klarare blir det för mig att det optimala vore att bli vegan. Däremot är det inte lätt att ställa om från den standard vi är uppvuxna i och sadla om. Men att införa några nya rätter och ta förändring steg för steg är enklare, och det är vad jag tänker göra. Sen får vi se vart vägen bär! Jag tycker det är jättespännande att experimentera med mat och se hur det påverkar min kropp. Som jag sa i ett av mina senaste inlägg; Testar man inte får man heller aldrig veta!

Mina 5 bästa träningstips:
1. Träna direkt på morgonen På morgonen är kroppen fortfarande inne i nattens fasta, så att träna direkt på morgonen innan frukost gör att du förbränner du mer fett och kalorier än om du tränar någon annan tid på dagen. Att träna på morgonen ger dig även en bra start på dagen, det sätter igång matsmältningen och väcker liv i din kropp. Men det kanske bästa med att träna direkt på morgonen är att du blir av med träningen direkt. Du kommer inte skjuta upp den eller komma med bortförklaringar som gör att träningen inte blir av. Istället kan du känna dig stolt över dig själv resten av dagen!
2. Skippa INTE stretchen! För att undvika skador och för att dina muskler ska återhämta sig och bygga upp sig på bästa sätt är det jätteviktigt att du alltid stretchar efter träningen, även om du bara tagit en promenad. Se till att få in 10-15 minuter stretch efter varje träningspass, och om du vill kan du även stretcha lite extra utan att du tränat överhuvudtaget. Att stretcha är jättebra för dina muskler!
3. Skaffa en träningsdagbok Att föra träningsdagbok där du skriver upp all din träning, hur det har gått och hur du känner dig kan verkligen vara till stor nytta. Detta gör det lättare att se dina framsteg och du får dessutom full koll på exakt vad du har gjort träningsmässigt. Det är otroligt givande att bläddra tillbaka bland sina anteckningar och se hur mycket man har förbättrats, vilket så klart ökar motivationen och viljan att fortsätta träna. Helt plötsligt kanske du kan springa en extra kilometer eller göra dubbelt så många armhävningar!
4. Ät en REN kost! "Abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym!" De flesta inom träningsvärden är överens om att kosten är det absolut viktigaste när det gäller att se snabba och de bästa resultaten med din träning. Utan en ren, bra och hälsosam kost slösar du bort din tid på gymmet eller i träningsspåret. Se till att utgå från rena, okomplicerade råvaror och bygg upp dina måltider efter dessa. Skippa socker, kemikalier och färdigförpackad mat. Det är bara skräp och bidrar inte med någon näring till din kropp. Se i första hand på näringsvärdet i den mat du äter. Jag rekomenderar att helt skippa gluten och mjölkprodukter. Se till att så stor del som möjligt av din kost består av frukt och grönsaker, och glöm inte att dricka minst 2 liter vatten om dagen. Om du följer dessa kostråd kan jag garantera att du kommer se snabbare resultat med din träning, och din kropp kommer må mycket bättre!
5. Ha roligt! Det finns så många olika träningsformer, sporter och övningar att du aldrig ska behöva göra något som känns tråkigt. Träna ensam eller i grupp. Lagsport eller individuellt. Hatar du att springa men vill få bättre kondis, testa spinning, simning eller åk skateboard! Testa en träningsDVD eller gå på ett ledarlett pass på Friskis & Svettis. Kombinationerna är ändlösa och bara du kan ta reda på vad som passar dig och din kropp bäst. Testa nya saker och se vad du gillar bäst, för när träningen känns kul kommer du inte behöva tvinga dig själv till att träna, utan det kommer vara något du ser fram emot!
Hej alla läsare! Den senaste tiden har jag testat att helt ta bort mjölkprodukter i min kost för att se hur det påverkar min kropp, och jag måste säga att jag blev förvånad över resultaten jag fick efter enbart ett par dagar. Sedan flera år tillbaka har jag lidit av migränanfall under "röda veckan", i alla fall 2-3 eftermiddagar utan undantag, men efter att förra perioden var slut kom jag på att jag inte haft ett enda spår av migrän eller huvudvärk. Jag hade då varit utan mjölkprodukter (mjölk, smör, ost, yoghurt osv) i endast 10 dagar, med "röda veckan" inkluderad i de 10 dagarna. Amazing! För er som haft migrän någon gång kan ni säkert hålla med mig om att man nästan skulle göra vad som helst för att slippa, och nu verkar jag ha hittat något som funkar för mig.
Sedan jag börjat fokusera på att äta nyttigt har jag aldrig tidigare uteslutit mjölkprodukter, utan tagit bort sånt som vete, gluten och socker. Jag intalade mig själv att jag helt enkelt inte skulle kunna "ge upp" mejeriprodukter. Vad ska jag då laga mat med??? Saken är den att det finns flera alternativ till mejeriprodukter som ger dig samma resultat som de produkter du är van att använda. Det gäller bara att upptäcka dem!
Så idag tänkte jag tipsa om ett par produkter jag börjat använda den senaste tiden från märket Oatly. Oaty är ett svensk märke vars produkter har en bas av havre. De har allt fån yoghurt och matlagnings"grädde" till creme fraiche och glass! Helt otroligt! De produkter som jag testat hittills och verkligen gillar är deras creme fraiche, matgrädde och naturell yoghurt. Jag har hållit mig till de produkter som inte innehåller tillsatt socker eftersom jag försöker att hålla mig borta från det så långt som möjligt, men det är såklart bättre med glass gjort på havre än mjölk även om det är socker i. Man får ta allt med en nypa salt. Alla produkter som Oatly erbjuder kan ni hitta HÄR, de har även ekologiska alternativ :D
Om ni är någorlunda insatta i mjölkfri kost så vet ni säkert att det finns en hel uppsjö av andra typer av "mjölk" nu för tiden, så som sojamjölk, rismjölk, kokosmjölk, mandelmjölk mm, men Oatlys produkter är de första jag har hittat som har något som liknar en "vanlig" creme fraiche, vilket jag verkligen uppskattar! Dessutom är deras produkter fria från soja, vilket kav vara svårt att hitta i vegetariska/veganska alternativ till mejeri/köttprodukter. Så om ni letar efter mjölkfria alternativ i matbutiken så rekommenderar jag er verkligen att testa Oatly! Jag tänker fortsätta utesluta mjölkprodukter ett tag och se vart det tar mig. Testar man inte så får man heller aldrig veta!

Hej! Eftersom vi är mitt uppe i semestertider tänkte jag dela med mig av ett par recensioner av naturliga solskyddsprodukter. Vare sig du är i Sverige eller på semester utomlands är det jätteviktigt att du skyddar din hud mot solen, året runt. Här kommer mina tankar om 4 naturliga solskyddsprodukter. Kolla in videon eller läs recensionerna längre ner. Min absoluta favorit hittar ni längst ner :)
Jason Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30
Denna solskyddsprodukt från märket Jason är anpassad till väldigt känslig hud, men en stund efter att jag applicerat den på mitt ansikte börjar det klia. Jag tror att detta inte beror på produkten i sig, utan att jag, som flera andra, är känslig mot zinkoxid som är den dominerande solskyddande ingrediensen (14,5%) tillsammans med Titanoxid (2%). Krämen har en väldigt tjock konsistens som gör krämen svår att jobba in i huden och som med de flesta naturliga solskyddskrämer lämnar de en vit film på huden.
Detta är inte en produkt som jag rekommenderar att ha på daglig basis under smink, men den fungerar bättre till kroppen, speciellt på axlar och andra områden som lätt blir brända. Eftersom man får den typiska vita beläggningen kan detta vara en bra produkt att ha på stranden eller vid poolen, snarare än ute till vardags, men det är så klart upp till var och en. Den tjocka konsistensen är något uttorkande så jag rekommenderar att spä ut den med någon typ av olja eller hudkräm vid applicering för att krämen lättare ska sjunka in i huden och appliceras jämt.
Sammanfattningsvis är denna solkräm okej till kroppen, men inte en topprodukt till ansiktet. Du kan hitta produkten HÄR.

Earth's Best Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30
Denna produkt, som ingår i Jasons sortiment, är anpassad speciellt till bebisar och deras känsliga hud. Precis som den ovan nämnda solkrämen från Jason är de skyddande ingredienserna Zinkoxid (14,5%) och Titandioxid (2%). Dessa två produkter är mycket snarlika och mitt omdöme blir det samma. En tjock, svårjobbad kräm som passar bättre till kroppen än ansiktet. Lämnar en vit film på huden och får det att klia i ansiktet på mig efter ett tag. Något uttorkande så fungerar bra att blandas med en olja eller olja vid applicering. Men tänk på att SPF:en sjunker då krämen blandas ut. Det enda som egentligen skiljer dessa produkter åt är att denna är snäppet liiiiite tunnare och att denna även är vattenresistent, vilket kan vara bra. Du kan hitta produkten HÄR.

100% Pure Pomegranate Antioxidant Hydration SPF 20
Detta solskydd från 100% Pure är helt naturligt och vegetarisk med snälla ingredienser som inte skadar dig eller din hud. Den har en behaglig konsistens som gör att krämen lätt appliceras i ansiktet och sjunker fint in i huden. Krämen är vit till färgen och som med de flesta naturliga solskydd lämnar den lite utav en vit film på huden, dock mycket mindre märkbart än andra solskyddskrämer jag provat. De aktiva ingredienserna som skyddar mot solen är Titandioxid (15%) och Zinkoxid (10%), som är mycket vanliga i naturliga solskyddsprodukter.
Den bleka hinnan som uppstår blir inget problem om man applicerar en foundation ovanpå, men om du tänker ha krämen utan smink kan du se lite sjukligt blek ut. Jag tror att denna produkt främst är framtagen till ansiktet eftersom den kommer i en så pass liten förpackning (50 ml), men jag ser inga problem med att ha den på övriga kroppen om så önskas. Smart förpackning med pump som gör användningen väldigt hygienisk! Krämen kan kännas lite uttorkande till huden, så jag rekommenderar att du först applicerar någon typ av fuktkräm innan du använder denna solskyddskräm.
På det hela taget är detta en väldigt bra produkt, 100% Pure har överlag väldigt bra produkter om du är ute efter ett naturligt/ekologiskt alternativ, och jag kan rekommendera denna produkt som en daglig SPF att ha under smink. Du kan hitta produkten HÄR.

Devaz Hallonfröolja (SPF 28-50) Hallonfröolja är min absoluta favorit då det kommer till naturligt solskydd! De unika hallonfröna har en naturligt inbyggd SPF på mellan 28 och 50 beroende på kvalitén på fröna, så du får ett högt skydd mot solens farliga UVA och UVB-strålar. Denna ekologiska, kallpressade olja är av en torrare variant som snabbt sjunker in i huden så du behöver inte oroa dig för att huden ska kännas fet eller oljig länge. Och eftersom det är just en olja agerar den på samma gång som en fuktkräm, så du behöver inte använda en hudkräm innan du applicerar ditt solskydd.
Fungerar fint som primer under smink och lämnar ingen typisk vit film som är vanligt hos andra naturliga solskyddsprodukter. Den går därför även utmärkt att använda även om du inte ska ha smink, och är även en perfekt solskyddsprodukt till resten av kroppen.
Jag rekommenderar verkligen denna produkt, vare sig du är ute efter en SPF till ansiktet eller kroppen. Gammal som ung, man som kvinna, även bäbisar kan säkert använd denna produkt och få ett perfekt skydd mot solen. Jag har köpt min hallonfröolja HÄR. jag valde även att beställa till en pump för 9 kr extra, vilket gör oljan mycket lättare att applicera och förpackningen blir mer hygienisk.

Hej! Tänkte bara lite kort dela med mig av en matdokumentär jag tittade på tidigare idag. Den heter Forks over Knives och handlar om fördelarna med att äta en växtbaserad kost med "rena" råvaror, inte enbart för viktminskning utan även för att motverka allvarliga sjukdomar så som diabetes, cancer och hjärt- och kärlsjukdomar.
Till skillnad från många andra dokumentärer ger inte Forks over Knives de skuldkänslor som i många fall automatiskt kommer i samband med program som handlar om kost. De försöker inte trycka ner sitt budskap i halsen på dig, utan informerar på ett sätt som fick mig att känna mig inspirerad efteråt och en vilja att se över mina matval och testa något nytt. Forks over Knifes är en dokumentär som fokuserar på människors framgångshistorier snarare än att enbart fokusera på de etiska aspekterna av att avstå från att äta djurprodukter, och kommer inte få dig att känna dig ful, fet och dålig efteråt (som när man tittar på "Du är vad du äter").
Det jag tycker är extra spännande är hur stor effekt vår ost har på våra kroppar när det kommer till sjukdomar. Det är synd att de flesta inte tänker på att sadla om sina matvanor INNAN hjärtattacken, diabetesen eller cancerbeskedet. Om fler fokuserade på att inkludera mer frukt och grönsaker i sin kost skulle vi slippa att någon gång få hamna i den situationen. I vissa fall finns det inte ens en chans att vara efterklok.

Hej på er! De senaste två veckorna har jag ätit efter något som kallas Raw 'til 4, och det går helt enkelt ut på att man äter rå frukt och grönsaker fram till klockan 16:00, och sedan kan man äta lagad mat till middag. De flesta som äter Raw 'til 4 äter bara vegetarisk mat även till middag, men jag väljer att fortfarande äta en bit kött till mina middagar, blandat med både tillagade och råa grönsaker. Att ha en hälsosam livsstil handlar om att hitta en balans som man kan leva med långsiktigt, och att äta den typen av mat som passar just din kropp, och min version av Raw 'till 4 är något som just nu verkar fungera väldigt bra för mig.
Att äta Raw med enbart frukt och grönsaker är vad jag tror är det absolut bästa för våra kroppar. Det ger ren energi som kroppen snabbt kan ta åt sig och smälta, och man får i sig en oändlig mängd av vitaminer och mineraler. Dock känner jag att jag inte skulle kunna gå Raw till 100%. Jag tycker om mat alldeles för mycket för att ge upp vissa saker, men en Raw 'till 4 livsstil med kött inblandat till middag känns verkligen bra!
För er som är nyfikna på Raw 'til 4 kan jag tipsa om kanalen Raw Nourishment på YouTube, och om ni vill veta mer om att leva en 100% raw vegan livsstil kan jag varmt rekomendera kanalen Fully Raw Kristina. Oavsett vilken teori man själv väljer att äta efter tycker i alla fall jag att det kan vara spännande att se och höra vad andra gör, så ta er gärna en titt :)

God morgon! Medan jag sitter här och surplar i mig min morgonjuice (ananas, apelsin och äpple BTW) planerar jag morgonens träningspass. Just för stunden är jag väldigt sugen på att få min mage i bättre skick. Kanske lite magrutor, eller i alla fall "nästan rutor". Det skulle sitta fint!

God kväll kära läsare! Jag tänkte bara dela med mig av ett snabbt tips när det kommer till ingredienser i skönhetsprodukter. Många konventionella skönhetsprodukter (smink, hudvård, hårvård etc) innehåller kemiska, och dessutom farliga ämnen som kan vara skadliga för både din kropp och miljön. Detta är en av anledningarna till varför jag har valt att byta till naturliga och ekologiska skönhetsprodukter, men även på dessa kan innehållsförteckningen vara svår att tyda. Dessutom är det tyvärr många märken och produkter som utger sig för att vara naturliga och ekologiska när de i verkliga fall inte alls är det.

Oavsett om du använder naturliga eller konventionella skönhetsprodukter kan det vara bra att hålla koll på vad de svåruttalade orden på innehållsförteckningen faktiskt är, och om de är skadliga. I EWG's Skin Deep Cosmetics Databasekan du söka på ingredienser och ta reda på om de är skadliga eller inte. Resultatet visas i en skala från 0-10 där 0-2 (grön) är ingredienser med låg riskfaktor, 3-6 (orange) har medelhög risk och 7-10 (röd) är ingredienser som du definitift bör undvika. Ju högre upp på skalan, desto sämre med andra ord. I vissa fall kan du även söka direkt på en produkt för att få ut ett genomsnittssiffra över dess ingredienser.
Detta är ett mycket bra verktyg för dig som vill veta vad dina skönhetsprodukter innehåller, och jag har haft stor användning av det sen jag bytte till naturliga och ekologiska produkter. Så, vet du vad din foundation innehåller? Eller din hudkräm? Eller ditt nagellack? Kanske är det värt att ta en titt...

#1 Jag är en sucker för neutrala ögonskuggor, och sedan jag bytt till att endast använda naturliga och ekologiska produkter har jag inte använt någon ögonskugga alls. Så ni kan ju tro att det kliar i fingrarna nu när jag hittat den här! 10 naturliga mineralskuggor för 329 kr. Inte alls så farligt tycker jag! Något som är bra är att man även kan köpa alla Neve Cosmetics skuggor separat och sätta ihop en egen palette, vilket är jättebra om man vil blanda neutrala och mer färstarka nyanser :)
#2 Denna ögonbrynspenna verkar helt fantastisk! Man får två olika färger på pennan, en ljusare och en mörkare nyans och dessutom en spoolie-borste, i en och samma produkt! Just nu använder jag min brow powder gel från 100% Pure som jag verkligen gillar, men jag måste säga att denna penna lockar! Den kostar 105 kr och finns även i fler nyanser, så du kan hitta en som passar just dina ögonbryn.

Hej allihopa! På senaste tiden har jag varit helt tokig i att äta proteinpannkaka till frukost :D Det är gott, enkelt och dessutom nyttigt! Därför tänkte jag dela med mig av mitt pannkakerecept tillsammans med 4 andra av mina favoirtfrukostar :) Spana in videon för att se hur du ska gå till väga, och längre ner hittar du alla mått till recepten.
Hej på er! Innan jag började byta ut mina skönhetsprodukter till naturliga och ekologiska alternativ hade jag en ordentlig samling nagellack. Egentligen många fler än nödvändigt. Med ett fint lack kan man snabbt och enkelt piffa till en outfit, speciellt eftersom jag älskar att klä mig i neutrala nyanser. Då kan en färgklick på naglarna verkligen göra stor inverkan!
Nu när jag letar efter naturliga nagellack har jag fattat tycke för märket Scotch Naturals. De har väldigt fina färger och har fått fina betyg av sina användare. Scotch Naturals är veganvänliga nagellack som är fria från ethyl- & butyl acetat, nitrocellulosa, aceton, och tungmetaller som är vanligt i konventionella nagellack. Många nagellack innehåller till och med cancerframkallande ämnen, vilket man undviker om man istället väljer ett naturligt alternativ.
Nagelacken från Scotch kostar 150 kr st, vilket för mig är väldigt mycket pengar för ett nagellack då jag är van att köpa mina för 39 kr på Gina Tricot (som förövrigt har väldigt bra nagellack om man använder konventionellt smink). Så trots det breda urvalet höll jag mig tillbaka och beställde bara två, Paisley Martini och Highland Fling. Jag blev även väldigt sugen på Leprechan Lynch, men det var tyvärr slutsålt.
Jag inväntar leverans med spänning och återkommer med en recension när jag testat lacken ordentligt. För den som är intresserad köpte jag mina Scotch-lack på Softskin.se. De har många fler färger än de på bilden ovan, det var bara några av mina favoriter :) Vilket Scotch-lack skulle du villa ha i din samling?

Oops! God morgon kära läsare! Som några av er säkert redan vet så älskar jag att träna till videos från Tone it Up! Karena och Katrina lyckas verkligen göra träning både enkelt och roligt! Allt du behöver för att kunna hänga med i alla deras videos är en yogamatta och ett par hantlar :) Superenkelt och jättekul!
Nu har deras årliga bikiniserie dragit igång och jag har just slutfört mitt första träningspass. Varje tisdag i 8 veckor framöver släpper de en ny träningsvideo på sin YouTube-kanal som får dig redo för bikinisäsongen på ett kick, och igår kom alltså den första i årets bikiniserie ut. En riktigt bra video som riktar in sig på hela kroppen. Kan verkligen rekommendera den ifall ni som jag gillar att träna hemma.
Jag har även anmält mig till deras Bikini Series via deras hemsida, toneitup.com. Det är helt gratis och då får man mail med träningsmaterial, roliga recept och motivationstips. Om ni känner att ni vill snygga till er kropp lite inför sommaren så finns länken till deras bikiniserie här. Det är alltså helt gratis :)
Nu ska jag mumsa i mig ett par jordgubbar och en smoothie för att boosta min kropp lite efter träningen. Ha en fortsatt trevlig dag! :D
Som ni säkert redan vet ska jag byta ut alla mina skönhetsprodukter till produkter av naturligt och ekologiskt ursprung, så jag tänkte att det kunde vara intressant att visa vilka produkter jag har och använder idag och i framtiden visa vilka produkter jag har bytt upp mig till :) Så här är en ganska lång och ingående video där jag visar alla mina sminkprodukter och berättar vad jag tycker om dem.
Några av mina favoritprodukter kommer jag länka till här, och om någon är intresserad av att köpa näst intill oanvända BareMinerals READY foundation i R110, R210, Urban Decay Naked eller Urban Decay Naked 2 för en billig peng så hör gärna av er! Eftersom jag ska byta till naturliga produkter så kommer jag inte ha användning för dem och jag tyckte det skulle vara dumt att slänga. Foundationerna från BareMinerals har jag bara testat en gång då de inte matchar min hudton, och Naked 1 och 2 har jag använt ett fåtal ggr :)
I fredags fick jag hem min beställning från Naturisimo.com, en engelsk sida som säljer naturliga och ekologiska skönhetsprodukter. Eftersom jag ska byta ut hela mitt skönhetsarsenal till naturliga och ekologiska produkter har jag sökt frenetiskt på nätet de senaste veckorna för att hitta de bästa märkena och produkterna. Jag snubblade över Naturisimo via Google och köpte 4 artiklar: en cake eyeliner från Nvey Eco och tre läppstift från Beauty Without Cruelty.
Denna eyeliner hade jag även sett på svenska sidor och den verkar vara mycket omtyckt av de som testat den. Den kan användas aningen blöt eller torr, beroende på om man vill ha skarpa linjer eller en mer smokey look. Den är certifierad ekologisk och är tillverkad i Australien.
Anledningen till att jag valde att beställa denna produkt från Naturisimo framför en svensk sida är att priset var betydligt lägre i England. Naturisimo har även gratis frakt, och enligt min mening snabb leveranstid för att vara från utlandet, 5-9 arbetsdagar. Det ska bli spännande att testa denna och se om även jag kommer uppskatta den :) Eyelinern finns även i brunt för den som är intresserad.
Sen plockade jag även upp 3 st läppstift från BWC. Dessa naturliga läppstift har en högpigmenterad, mjuk och krämig formula som inte torkar ut läpparna. Jag testade Rosehip igår och den höll sig i timmar utan att blekna. Läppstiftet höll sig även perfekt i extrem hetta (behöll det på när jag ångade ansiktet :p) så det passar perfekt till heta sommardagar.
Något jag märkte med dessa läppstift är att de lätt överförs till glas eller koppar, så pussa inte någon annan på kiden om du inte vill de ska gå därifrån med ett stort pussmärke :) När läppstiftet så småningom fadeas, tex när man ätit osv, så lämnas en fin tint på läpparna, så en del av färgen finns fortfarande kvar.
På det hela taget är jag väldigt nöjd med kvalitén på dessa läpprodukter och jag ser fram emot att använda dem mer!

Hej på er! imorgon är det ECOday 2014, och jag vill uppmana mina läsare att delta :D Det är inget svårt eller ansträngande, det hela går ut på att handla så många ekologiska, miljömärkta eller fairtraidprodukter som möjligt när ni drar till affären imorgon för att handla inför helgen. Svårare än så är det inte.
Jag försöker att alltid köpa ekologiskt när alternativet finns, så jag tänker såklart haka på även imorrn :) Gå gärna med i ECOday's evenemang på Facebookför att visa ert stöd! Här nedan kommer den information som de delar med sig av på sin sida:
"2013 kom jag spontant på att jag ville skapa en återkommande eko-dag. Detta skedde två dagar innan löning. Responsen var trots det ganska bra och folk engagerade sig på olika sätt. Nu har jag dock mer framförhållning och vill verkligen att detta ska slå igenom STORT. Så hjälp mig gärna att sprida detta. Jag kommer kontakta olika företag för samarbete, så att det verkligen uppmärksammas.
Här är förra årets tanke, som så klart fortfarande gäller: Det är lön och de flesta handlar mat och godsaker inför helgen. Men hur många handlar på ren automatik och hur många handlar medvetet?
Jag vill öka medvetenheten hos konsumenten och handlarna. Om vi under en dag väljer att handla så mycket ekologiskt, miljömärkt och fairtrade som möjligt, kanske vi kan få upp ögonen för något nytt och samtidigt visa butikerna att det finns ett intresse för bra mat som inte belastar vår planet och våra djur negativt.
Jag utmanar er att under en dag välja medvetet, att välja från hjärtat. Köp så mycket ekologiskt som ni kan, oavsett om det bara är en produkt mer än ni brukar. Läs på era förpackningar, välj bort det dåliga och lägg till det som är bra.
Såklart önskar jag att ni handlar eko/miljömärkt/fairtrade alla dagar. Men detta är en önskan att nå fram till er som vanligtvis inte handlar dessa produkter. Ni som redan gör det, kan ju hitta på något extra, som att sätta press på era handlare.
Saknar ni något, fråga i affären! De gånger jag frågar efter en vara som inte finns, brukar jag få svaret att de ska kolla upp det och i så fall ta in det om det finns. Butikerna behöver bara veta att intresset finns hos kunderna.
Det behöver inte heller vara dyrare. Många gånger har kedjorna sina egna märken med eko-mat och miljömärkning, som kostar ungefär samma som den vanliga "märkesvaran" som inte är märkt med de bra stämplarna. Till exempel Icas "I love eco", Coops "Änglamark" eller Willys "Garant" och "Såklart".
Självklart gäller detta även kläder, smink, hudvård, hårvård etc. Även där har kedjorna oftast ett märke som är miljömärkt/eko och klädkedjorna brukar ha en eko-kollektion. Priserna på eko-kläder kommer sjunka ju mer vi handlar.
Det hade ju varit fantastiskt om alla eko/miljö-produkter tog slut i hela Sverige på en eftermiddag! Kom ihåg; vi "röstar" med våra pengar! Är ni på?

För nån vecka sedan visade Gina Tricot upp några kommande kreationer på sin instagram, och jag blev helt besatt av en av klänningarna de visade. Sedan dess har jag varit inne på deras webbshop varje dag för att se om den kommit in, och idag äntligen hade den kommit!
Vitt har på den senaste tiden blivit min nya favoritfärg, vilket är väldigt annorlunda för mig. Men jag tyckte att denna klänning kändes väldigt passande inför sommaren och det var framförallt ryggen jag fastnade för, och så var den ju vit åxå :P Så nu är den beställd och förhoppningsvis snart levererad :) Dock måste jag nog vänta ett tag innan jag kan börja använda den. Sommarvärmen får gärna komma NU!

It gives a very natural look and it's also much better for your skin than liquid foundation since it's natural and not so heavy. Hi guys! I've been on the hunt for a white leather jacket for a while now and I FINALLY found one! Needless to say, it was love at first sight. I spotted this at Cubus when Carl and I stopped by the mall after we had returned the keys to our old apartment. I wasn't even looking for anything, it kind of just popped up. But isn't that the way it always goes? When you're looking for something you can't find it anywhere, but as soon as you stop looking it just appears? :D
So what do you guys think? I've been really in to anything white recently, both in clothing as well as interior design. I think white is such a great color for spring!
Hi guys! Today I wanted to share 5 tips on how to start eating healthy. Trying to eat healthier is a goal that most of us have but often it means a huge change in your everyday life, and because of this it can feel a bit intimidating to take that step into a healthier lifestyle. But here is 5 tips that is a good starting point for all of you out there who wants to start eating healthy but don't really know where to begin. I hope you enjoy!
1. Define what eating healthy means to you Make a list of all the things you no longer want to include in your diet. Everyone has a different opinion on what 'eating healthy, really means, so define it in the way that fit your needs and your lifestyle.
2. Get rid of all of the things you no longer want to include in your diet Go through your cupboards, fridge and freezer and throw away everything that made the naughty list. If you keep foods that you know are bad for you at home you will eat them, so put yourself up for success and get rid of all of it!
3. Avoid temptation! By not keeping bad foods at home you have a better chance to avoid temptation. But this also concerns the social situations you're in. If you have an appetite for fast food or baked goods, avoid putting yourself in socials situations where you can easily get a hold of those things. Avoid coffee shops of eating out for the first period of your change to ease the transition.
4. Start out slowly When changing your life you have to take baby steps in order to be successful. You can't decide to just never have chocolate again, because you will cave and probably binge eat. Every once in a while you need to feed you cravings to be able to keep on going without falling off the wagon to hard, but do it in moderation. If you have a chocolate craving, get a piece of chocolate, but do not bring 5 more home to 'save for another time', because you will cave and eat them all!
5. Be creative! When eating healthy there will be a few things you'll have to cut out, but there are SO many unexplored flavors and ingredients out there that are just waiting for you! Be courageous and try a lot of new thing, even things you think you might not like, and I guarantee you'll find new dishes and snacks to fall in love with. The more good, delicious, new things that you put in to your diet, the easier it will be to forget about the bad things you're now excluding.
A while back my boyfriend and I bought our very own apartment, and today we finally get to start moving in. For the past 2,5 years we have been living in a student apartment while getting our university education, but since we are no longer taking classes there we had to leave the apartment. We started looking in November and had a pretty tough time finding a place that we liked, and that would fit our budget. But one glorious day we walked in to a modern, stunning two story apartment and I just knew that this was where I wanted to live.
I was so nervous while the bidding was going, and after 4 months of waiting you can only imagine my joy when we finally got the good news that the apartment was ours.
It's a one bedroom apartment with a huge kitchen, bathroom and balcony. I think Carl and I, along with our two cats will be quite happy there :D Another good thing is that we got to move back "home" again, so now we'll be a lot closer to friends and family, which is AWESOME!
The next few weeks will probably be very hectic and crazy, so if I'm absent that is the reason. I'll show you the apartment when we are all moved in. I'm so excited!
Right now I'm trying to get rid of a stubborn cold that has occupied my throat and nose. Doesn't it understand that I need to be on top of my game right now? Probably. And that's the sole reason it's decided to vacay at Casa de la Sanna. I made some leek soup to try to fend it off. Hope it works!

Hi guys! Today I'll be showing you how o make some awesome, healthy tortilla chips made from almond flour! This is a crispy, spicy treat that goes perfectly with so many different Mexican dishes, and they are so simple to make too :D So if you want a healthier, non-fried alternative for taco night, then watch this video or scroll down to the directions below :)

INGREDIENTS: 500 ml (5 dl) almond flour 2 eggs (only the whites) Spices! I use salt, black pepper, Mexican spice mix, chili flakes, paprika powder, onion powder, garlic powder and cayenne pepper, but you can chose whatever seasoning you want to fit your own spice level.
DIRECTIONS: Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Mix the almond four with the spices so everything is well combined. Add in the egg whites and combine into a nice dough.
Put some parchment paper on your work surface and place half of the dough in the middle of it. Then place another cheat of paper on top and use a rolling pin to roll out the dough as thinly as you can.
Place everything on a baking tray and carefully peel the top parchment paper off the dough. Then use a sharp knife to cut the dough into triangles.
Bake the tortilla chips in the oven at 150°C or 300°F for 10-15 minutes and then carefully break the chips apart and let cool completely on a cooling rack. Then repeat the same steps with the other half of the dough.
Store in a air tight glass container. The tortilla chips will stay good for a few weeks.
Bought this beautiful bag the other day, and I'm completely obsessed! I absolutely love the mix of faux caviar leather and suede paired with the silver hardware. It's a mix of hard and soft which fits my style perfectly! The bag is by the brand Fuchsia, which I have never heard of before, but I think this bag looks far more expensive than the amount I paid for it. A real bargain. Me like :D

Hi guys! Today I want to share a review of the Clarisonic Mia 2 with you guys. For you who don't know, the Clarisonic is a device to clean your face. You can use it before, or after you remove your makeup, and you can use it both morning and night.
There has been a huge hype on the Clarisonic on YouTube and it got me curious to try it out myself. The Clarisonic Mia 2 is the sequel of the original Clarisonic Mia, and this one is more targeted towards sensitive skin. When you turn it on the brush head starts to vibrate and this helps deep clean the skin and remove the top layer of dead skin cells in a very gentle way. It vibrates for one minute per use, 20 seconds for your forehed, 20 seconds for your nose + chin area, and 10 seconds on each cheek. The product claims to clean your skin 6 times more effective than just using your hands, and I have noticed a big difference since I started using this device.
In this review I'm going to show you pictures of how my skin reacted while using the Clarisonic for 4 weeks and tell you my thoughts on it.
The Clarisonic comes with the device, a brush head for sensitive skin, a travel case, a charger and a cleanser sample. I didn't use the cleanser that came with the product. Instead I used the Gariner Nordic Essentials Gentle Cleanser with Protecting Rose Extract on the brush after I have already removed my makeup. I used the Clarisonic morning and night. After I had rinsed the cleanser off my face I followed up with the toner from that same Garnier line, and then applied my day or night cream. Both the cleanser and toner are for dry and sensitive skin and doesn't contain any alcohol. Before bed I also put a salicylic acid treatment on my breakouts, the same treatment that I usually use on my skin.
BEFORE: When I started using the Clarisonic Mia 2 my skin was pretty messed up. Over the Christmas Holiday season I had eaten a lot of BAD things, and this really broke my skin out. So starting off my skin was worse than it usually was. A lot of my breakouts was targeted on my forehead, but I also had a few on my chin and some on my cheeks. Usually I never break out on my cheek area, so this was unusual for me.
WEEK 1: After the first week I had noticed a big difference in my cheeks. Almost all of the breakout were already gone, but my forehead and chin area was pretty much the same after one week of using the Clarisonic.
WEEK 2: After the second week my cheeks were still clear except for one huge zombie zit that came from an indulgence of chocolate. My chin are was clearing up and I noticed some improvement on the forehead as well. I had a few larger breakouts on my forehead, but most of the original breakouts were fading.
WEEK 3: After the third week I had gotten a few new tiny breakouts on my chin. My cheeks were clear and the zombie zit was disappearing. The forehead was still the biggest problem area, but there was a definite improvement from the week before.
WEEK 4: I noticed most improvement during the fourth week of using the Clarisonic. Except for two small breakouts on my forehead and one small on my chin all of my previous breakout had completely disappeared. Left behind are some hyper pigmentation spots, but those take longer to disappeared. Dark marks after breakouts can take up to 6 months to disappear, so next I'll be trying to find a treatment to speed that process along.
FINAL THOUGHTS: Over all I'm very impressed with the Clarisonic Mia 2. I admit it's a little up there in price, but for the result I got I think it's well worth the money. I think it's so easy to use and it makes my skin feel super clean and soft. And I did notice a huge difference in the quality of my skin when using this device.
So in my humble opinion this is well worth the hype. Some people notice an increase of breakouts within the first week or so of using the Clarisonic, because it brings impurities that hides deep within your skin to the surface. I didn't notice this myself, but that might be due to the fact that my skin was already at it's worse. But if you notice an initial increase, don't worry. It's just how the process works. Just keep using the Clarisonic and you will soon notice the benefits :)

Hi guys! Long time, no see! Today I decided that I wanted to give the blog a face lift. I'm tired of the dark and gloomy and I want something lighter and brighter, something more colorfull and happy. The color yellow has been an obsession of mine for the past year or so, and I can't think of a 'happier' color, so I'm going with a white and yellow theme. Hopefully the renovation won't take more than a day or two, but in the meantime it might look a bit weird :)

Hi guys! In this video I teach you how to make omelet muffins, an easy recipe that is packed with flavor! In the recipe I convert my favorite pie into a muffin using chicken, bacon, leeks and mixed greens, but you can choose any toppings you like :) Depending on what topping you choose these omelet muffins is good for breakfast, lunch or dinner. It's all up to you :) You can find all of the ingredients and directions below.
MEASUREMENTS: Makes 6 omelet muffins 6 eggs 1 large chicken breast 140 g of bacon 1 leek Mixed greens Shredded cheese Salt, pepper, chicken spice
DIRECTIONS: Cut the chicken, bacon and leeks into tiny pieces. Add some cooking fat to a hot frying pan and cook your bacon until it's nice and crispy. Let it drain on some paper towels.
Cook the chicken in the remaining bacon fat for extra flavor. Season with salt, pepper and chicken spice. Let cook all the way trough.
Whisk your eggs into a smooth mixture and season with salt and pepper.
Use cupcake tins and a cupcake tray for the omelet muffins. Spoon in the bacon, chicken, leeks and mixed greens and stir to combine. Pour the eggs on top all the way to the rim and top with some cheese.
Bake in the oven for 20 minutes at 225°C/440°F and serve with a dinner salad.

MEASUREMENTS: (For one person) 150 ml sugar 1,5 tablespoon olive oil 1,5 tablespoon honey 0,5-1 lemon (squeezed into juice)
DIRECTIONS: Add all of the ingredients into a bowl and mix together. If your body scrub is a bit loose, add some more sugar until you are happy with the consistency. Scoop the scrub into an airtight jar and store it in the fridge. The body scrub will stay fresh for a couple of weeks in the fridge.

Hi guys! Today I have a short review for you :) A while back I bought the "Cherry in the Air" perfume from Escada. I had been eyeing this perfume since this summer, but I never ended up buying it since perfumes tend to be on the pricier side of the beauty spectrum. But I had gone in to try it a bunch of times, and every time I sprayed it on me I just wanted it more. So when I saw it at a great price a little over a month ago I had run out of reasons not to get it.
When I first tried this perfume I was actually surprised how much I liked it. It has a sour scent to it that reminds me of this sour cherry candies that I used to buy when I was a kid. It is a very playful, fresh and young scent, maybe a bit more appropriate for the spring and summer time that the colder months, but what the heck? A great scent is always a good scent, in my opinion, no matter what time of the year it is.
The "Cherry in the Air" perfume from Escada is labeled Limited Edition, so I'm not sure for how much longer it will be around in stores. So if you're like me and have been wondering about this for a while maybe it's time to get it before it disappears. I think they should keep it around for longer, and since it has been the top seller at a bunch of my local perfume shops it seems the public agrees. This is truly a lovely scent that lingers for that fresh and sour sensation all day long. This is one of my favorite scents at the moment and I think I will get a lot of use out of it when spring comes around again! And I have to say I love the bottle as well. Red is my favorite color and this oval shaped bottle with the large, silvery cap looks great in my bathroom cabinet.
If you are on the lookout for this scent, or any other kind of scent actually, I recommend checking online for good deals. I have noticed that you can save quite a lot of money buying scents online, so keep that in mind next time you are on the hunt for a new perfume :)

Hi guys! I am so sorry that I've been so quiet presently. There has been a lot of stuff going on in my life these past few months and I haven't been able to keep up with a lot of things I normally would. Things has started to slow down a bit but there are still some things I need to sort out. When you think about the future it always seems so far ahead but then all of a sudden the future becomes the present and then your life kind of crumbles.
So, on a more positive note; My boyfriend and I went to London a while back and I have put together a haul video with the things that i got. I talked about this Cranberry nail polish from ELF in my beauty vice TAG video and also here on my blog. To recap it's just a stunning, ruby red color with lots of sparkle. The shade catches the light in the most beautiful way and the war, cozy shade is super flattering on the nail! This will definitely be one of my most worn shades throughout fall and winter. Currently they don't stock the shade on the ELF website, but I bought a few to stock up on :)
The H&M quick dry spray has really changed my nail care routine and the wear of my nail polish! No more bed marks imprinted in my polish :) And not as much chipping either! I definitely recommend you pick one up at your local H&M!
Shirts are such a huge trend for fall, and I for one is very pleased with that! The shirt I'm wearing in this video is from H&M, which I'm wearing on top of a graphic BOY tank top I bought at a street fair. Hula hooping is a super fun way of exercising! Just use it while watching TV and you won't even notice your working out :) And hula hooping for an hour can burn up to 600 calories, which is a lot compared to working out 45 minutes on a cross trainer which usually burns 150-200 calories for me :) I bought my hula hoop from Halens, and I really like the fact that you can take it apart when you don't use it to save storage space. Hi guys! Today I wanted to share a nail polish favorite of mine called “Punk”. It is this awesomely beautiful dark grey metallic shade from Gina Tricot, that definitely spices up your nails for fall and winter. This super opaque polish contains tons and tons of sparkle, which catches the light in the most beautiful way.
This is one of my favorite shade for colder weather months! It can really spice up an outfit and the sparkle makes the shad not seem as hard even though it’s a dark color. This shade has a really great color payoff and it also stays on the nail quite well. If you can get your hands on this polish this fall/winter I definitely recommend it!
Hi guys! I had my BFF Elin over for dinner the other day and for dessert I made us some yoghurt panna cotta with fresh berries :) It was a big hit so I thought I'd share the recipe with you guys. It is really easy to pull off, and the good thing is you can do it in advance, so if you're having people over for dinner it won't be as stressful for you :) If you want the printable recipe in Swedish, then click here :D
4 big servings of panna cotta, put 4 sheets of gelatin in a bowl of water to soften for 5 minutes. In a small pot, heat up 1 dl of non dairy heavy cream, along with 3/4 of a teaspoon of organic vanilla powder and ½ dl of stevia. Bring to a simmer and stir. Add the softened gelatin sheets and stir until they dissolve fully.
Take the pot of the heat and stir in 3 dl of Russian yoghurt. You can also use Greek yoghurt if you'd like, but I used Russian. Sir the yogurt in with the cream mixture until you get a smooth texture. Scoop up the panna cotta into 4 serving size bowls and place them in the fridge for a minimum 2-3 hours. If you want to keep them in the fridge for longer, that's okay too, if you for instance want to make the dessert the night before.
Serve the yogurt panna cotta with some fresh berries, I used raspberries and blackberries, but choose whatever berries you'd like :)
This was the perfect dessert at the end of a long day. This yoghurt panna cotta is very balanced in taste, not to sweet and not too heavy. And the yoghurt and the stevia makes this a fairly healthy dessert too, wish of course is a plus :)

I have created a website called “Sugar & Spice” where I post easy and healthy recipes suiting for someone trying to keep up a healthy lifestyle. So far I have posted 30 recipes, but they will add up as time goes by. All the recipes are of my own invention and are made with ingredients that I stand by and that I consider to be healthy. The term “healthy” is kind of subjective, in that it means different things to different people. To me, eating healthy is about eating clean, to choose natural ingredients that haven’t been distorted or processed. I try to stay away from preservatives and other chemicals and just work with natural ingredients. That is my way of looking at health, and it is that kind of food that I cook and post on Sugar & Spice.

Hi guys! Today I wanted to share a quick and easy recipe for a fresh and refreshing smoothie. This is a great pick me up in the morning or in the afternoon when you need a burst of energy. For a printable recipe in swedish,click here :)
Add 2 dl of freshly squeezed orange juice to a blender, along with half a sliced banana. Add 1 dl of frozen mango pieces and mix all the ingredients together until your smoothie is smooth and nice.
Serve in a tall glass with a colorful straw, and yes, a colorful straw makes all the difference :P

Most of the shades have a very nice pigmentation and not a lot of fallout which I think is great! You can really do a lot of different looks with this one palette, from a very natural and subtle everyday type of look, to a super glitz and glam look for a night on the town.

This eyeliner is the first cream eyeliner that I have ever tried, and from the first time I used it I absolutely fell in love! It has this great smooth texture, and it applies really easily. I don’t use the brush that comes with the product, though. Instead I’m using my Sigma E05 eyeliner brush, and it gives me great control over the thickness and overall look of the line I create. My absolute favorite thing about this product is definitely the color payoff. It has a really rich blackness that lasts all day long, and it is absolutely beautiful! It does take me a little longer to apply then the kohl pencil that I am used to wearing, but the extra few minutes are absolutely worth it!

If you are a keen reader of this blog you know that I have been raving about this nail polish a couple of times already. This has been my absolute favorite shade throughout the entire summer, and I think it looks stunning on both your fingers and toes once you get a bit of a tan. “Lemon” is just the most beautiful electric yellow color, almost a soft neon shade, and it really turns up the volume to any of your summer outfits. Unfortunately they don’t have it in stock anymore at Gina Tricot because they tend to change up their shades pretty often, but if it comes back around next spring I will definitely stock up, because I love this nail polish to pieces!

The 30 day abs challenge (More info here!) I wrote a post about this in the beginning of the month, and I have absolutely been loving this workout! It’s really easy to just do 4 exercises from the comfort of your own home, no tools or equipment needed. The best thing about this is that you start out really slowly and then gradually work your way up as you go along, and it really gives results, both visually and in how much you are able to handle workout wise. Definitely give this a try if you want to tone up those abs! :)
Toasted pumpkin seeds with sea salt
I mentioned this in my “How to stay on track with a healthy lifestyle” video, and I have been completely obsessed with these lately! Just toast them on medium heat in a nonstick pan and sprinkle some sea salt on top. The perfect healthy snack if you are in the mood for something salty, or as a topping on you salad!

Random: Silver spray paint with chrome effect
Extremely random, I know, but a really cheap and effective way to turn any inexpensive, metal jewellery into the shade of your choice. It’s also a good way to spruce up old jewellery that you have lying around at home, just make sure to stick to the inexpensive stuff and not spray actual gold or silver.

Hi guys! Here is a quick and easy tip for a healthy snack: Fruit Kebabs! :D This is a really fun way to eat fruit, a perfect way if you want your kids to see fruits in a new light. You can of course choose any fruits or berries you like, but I had watermelon, strawberries, peaches and green grapes. Just cut them into bite size pieces and stick them on a skewer :) It's a simple as that! A perfect dessert to bring to a barbeque or to just spice up your average Sunday afternoon :)

For the past month or so I've been on the hunt for an everyday facial sunscreen, because the one I currently use unfortunately break me out. But it seemed impossible to find a good, breakout free sunscreen in Sweden, if you're not prepared to pay a huge amount of money, so I decided to check out what they had at Feel Unique.
I ended up trying two different sunscreens, the first is from a brand named Jason and it's the "Pure Natural Sun - Mineral Natural Sunscreen" with broad spectrum SPF 30. It says to be for very sensitive skin, and that's really the reason that I picked it up.
The next one is from the brand "Earth's Best" and it's the Mineral Sunscreen for babies, also with broad spectrum SPF 30. I thought that a natural alternative might be kinder to my skin, so hopefully these two won't break me out! I will try them out and return with a review.
I also picked up a makeup brush, and it's the Real Technique's Expert Face Brush. I've had my eyes on this for a long time because I've heard so much many people rave about this on You Tube, and when I saw that Feel Unique was carrying Real Technique's products I just had to have one. I've only used it once, but I really like it!

Hi guys! Here is a tip for all of you food lovers out there: My boyfriend loves when I make him omelets for breakfast, but the truth is, I suck at it! Every time I try to make one it just falls apart in the pan when I try to flip it or serve it. So then I got the idea of starting to make my omelets in the oven instead, and it turned out great!
Here is a recipe for a quick, easy peasy breakfast omelet.
Preheat the oven to 225°C (about 440°F). Cut some bacon into small pieces and cook them in a frying pan until crispy. Add the bacon to a baking pan and slice in some cherry tomatoes, and add some baby spinach and arugula. Wisk 4 eggs together in a bowl. Add a pinch of salt, black pepper and white pepper. Wisk once more and pour the eggs ontop of the omelet toppings. Make sure the eggs are covering the entire bottom of the pan and cook in the oven for about 10-15 minutes, until the eggs has stiffened and the omelet has some nice color.
This omelet is for one person, but if you’re cooking for two you can just add some extra toppings and double the eggs, but don’t forget that the cooking time will increase as well.

Hi guys! Today I’m bringing you a review of the shampoo, conditioner and hair mask from Garnier Response. This line contains avocado oil and shea butter, which are two ingredients that really nourishes the hair and gives it moisture and softness. The shampoo and conditioner are for dry and damaged hair, and the mask is for very dry hair.
The entire line is very inexpensive, and for the price I have to say that I am fairly impressed! I first bought these products because they specifically were for dry and damaged hair, and my hair had been feeling awfully dry for ages!
Let’s start with the shampoo. In my opinion this product really does get my hair clean. I can’t find any product residue after washing my hair, which is good. It has a nice, fresh smell and the consistency is very nice and on the thicker side. The shampoo is also paraben and silicon free, which is nice. One thing though is that you have to be really careful when you squeeze the product into your hand. The bottle has a fairly big opening and if you just squeeze the bottle a little bit you will still get a lot of product out. The first time I used this I was using the normal amount of “force” that I use with any other shampoo bottle, and ended up filling my entire palm full of product in a second. Luckily I managed to get the product back into the bottle, but be careful with this if you decide to try this product.
Moving on to the conditioner. This product is paraben and silicon free. I have tried similar products before and found them to e really drying for my hair, but this product is not. I feel that it gives me a lot of moisture and after using the shampoo and conditioner together I really notice a difference of the condition of my hair. It is softer and not as dry, so I think these two products keep their promises. Another positive aspect of the shampoo and conditioner is the packaging. Both bottles are designed so that they can stand both upright and upside down, which comes in handy once you start running out of product. A big plus in my eyes!
My favorite product of this line is definitely the hair mask! After the first time I used this I was completely hooked, and I have been implementing this into my hair care routine once a week ever since. It has a really thick, creamy consistency, and a lovely scent of shea butter.
The jar sais to leave it in for 3 minutes and the rinse it out, but what I’ve been doing is that after I shampoo my hair I get out of the shower, apply this generously all over my hair and tie it into a bun on top of my head. Then I put a plastic bag over my hair and secure it with a hair tie, and then put a woolly hat on top for added heat. The plastic bag keeps the hair and product from drying out and the hat provides heat which help activate the product.
I usually keep this on for about 45-60 minutes while I do a facial and shave my legs, and then I take everything off and rinse it out in the shower. This leaves my hair feeling so incredibly soft! It’s truly an amazing feeling, and once my hair is dry it doesn’t feel weighed down. It’s just airy, soft and shiny. What more could a girl want?
I give this line a 4 out of 5 in overall grade. I recommend these products if you have dry hair or just want a paraben and silicon free alternative that doesn’t dry your hair out. And for the low price I think these products are really, really good. I would definably repurchase all of these products, but especially the hair mask is going to stay in my hair care routine for a long, long time!

Hi guys! The other day I went out into my grandparent’s garden and picked a plate of berries that I had for breakfast. Not only are berries delicious, they are also very nutritious! I went with a red theme and picked some strawberries, raspberries, cherries and red currants. I did a little research on the health benefits of these 4 berries and thought I’d share them with you. I think it’s nice to actually know what the berries help with, instead of only hearing “they are good for you, eat them!”. Strawberries: - Low in calories (only 32 kcal/100g) - Rich source of health promoting phyto-nutrients, minerals and vitamins. - Scientific studies show that consumption of straw berries may have potential health benefits against cancer, aging, inflammation and neurological diseases. - Fresh berries are an excellent source of vitamin C. After oranges/lemons it’s the most vitamin C packed food.
Raspberries: - Low in calories and saturated fats (52 kcal/100g) - High in dietary fiber (100g of raspberries are 16% of the RDI of fiber) - Is full of antioxidants like vitamin A, C and E. Hi guys! Starting today I’m going to do the “30 days abs challenge” from 30dayfitnesschallenges.com. I heard about this through Divas can cook’s Facebook page (LOOOVE her cooking videos btw :P) and it just seemed like such an easy and maintainable workout challenge that I just had to do it.
The way it works is you do 4 different exercises a day; situps, crunches, leg lifts and plank. Every third day it’s a rest day for your body to recover where you don’t do any exercises at all. It starts easy with only a few of each a day, and as the month progresses the workload steadily increases.
What I think is good about this is that you can do all of these exercises from your own home, without any equipment. The site also say that you can split the exercises up throughout the day, so you don’t even have to do them all in a row.
I challenge all of my readers to try this too! So, who’s with me in trying this? Come on now, you can do it!

Hi guys! If you are in to a healthy lifestyle, maybe you have seen these ”What’s in my fridge” videos on YouTube? If not, they are a great way to get inspiration what to shop for, and it can sometimes help to see what other people that are trying to be healthy eat.
I snapped a few pics of my fridge the other day and thought I’d share the contents with you as a source of inspiration. So if you are interested in that sort of thing, keep reading below :)
On the top shelf in the fridge I usually keep breakfast things and cheese. Today I have some butter and margarine. Margarine isn’t really that good for you, but I’m trying to use it up so I can start buying real butter instead. Real butter is more expensive, but it’s also not as processed as margarine. Then I also have some eggs and bacon, and in the back (not visible) I have some parmesan cheese along with a mild everyday sandwich type of cheese.
On the next shelf I keep bigger and bulkier things. To the left I have some pices of beef and a pack of high meat content chorizo. On top of that I have a plate of strawberries which I have wrapped a plastic bag around. I find that they stay good longer this way :) To the right I keep some of the bigger fruits that I mostly use for juicing; some Granny Smith apples and some oranges in the back.
On the shelf underneath I keep my everyday salad veggies along with some bigger veggies and fruits. Her I have some cauliflower in the back, and some red apples along with cherry tomatoes. To the right I have two cucumbers (one for juicing and one for salad) along with some mixed leafy greens.
On the bottom shelf I keep the veggies I’m using for cooking and in the box to the right I keep smaller fruits and veggies that might otherwise get lost. Here I have some cabbage and carrots in the back, along with some sweet potatoes in a bag and some butternut squash. In the drawer I have some lemons, red onion, garlic, sugar snaps, a red chili pepper, a regular onion and some ginger.
In the door of my fridge I keep different bottles and jars. On the middle shelf I have some soy sauce followed by some food coloring (I should probably through that one out though because I don’t think it contains much good and I almost never use it anyways). Then I have some sundried tomatoes and a bottle of liquid smoke. I have only tried the liquid smoke once but I didn’t really enjoy it. Do you use liquid smoke in your cooking? Then I also have some lemon juice in a bottle and some different types of stock.
On the lower shelf I have some dairy products. Here I have some cream, crème fraiche, Turkish yoghurt, Russian yoghurt . Squeezed between the Turkish and Russian yoghurt I also have a jar of béarnaise sauce with chili (not super healthy but I loooove that stuff!)
And that’s everything I keep in my fridge at the moment! Of course this varies depending on what I’m going to cook, but it’s a general overview.

Hi guys! The other day I posted a makeup and jewellery haul on my blog and one of the things I bought was a liquid eyeliner pen from H&M. If you missed this haul and want to go read it, click here :)
If you did read it, you will know that I swatched the eyeliner and was a little unsure of the color payoff. It just seemed not to be as black as I would have wanted, because I like my eyeliner to be as black as possible. Now I have tried it for the first time and thought I’d give it a first impression review.
I will judge this product based on 5 criteria: Application, Color payoff, Lasting power, Price and Packaging. I will score it on a scale from 0-5 on all the criteria and in the end give it an overall grade from 0-5. So, let’s get started! :)
First things first, I found the application quite tricky. It was hard to get an even thickness of the line and I had a hard time following my eye shape. I had to start over a few times to get the result in the pictures below. This might not be 100% due to the product, because I’m not the best at applying liquid liner, but I have had bigger success with other similar products. Application: 3
When it comes to color payoff, which was an initial concern of mine, the eyeliner actually surprised me. On the eye area I find that the color performs much better than when I swatched it on my hand, so I’m happy with that. It’s definitely not the blackest of blacks color wise, but black enough for me :) Color payoff: 4
I found the lasting power of this product to be quite good. I didn’t wear an eye primer underneath, and the color lasted fine throughout the day. It didn’t smudge on me, which is good. At the end of the day I found the wings closest to my outer tear duct to be slightly faded, but that is to be expected I think. One thing though is that it is not at all waterproof. During the application I had to start over a few times and the product completely melts away when using a wet q-tip. This makes the eyeliner very ease to remove at the end of the day but I would not recommend using this on a rainy day. Lasting power: 4
When it comes to the price I have nothing negative to say. It costs 39.90 SEK, which is about $5-6, £3-4 and 4,5 EUR. So I don’t think you can find anything less expensive. Price: 5
Last but not least, we have the packaging. I find this to be very simple and elegant. Nothing out of this world but the color combination of black and silver is something I enjoy. The cap seems very secure, so if you carry this with you in your purse it won’t come off. It seems very tight so I don’t think that the product will dry out quickly either. The only downside I find is that the cap doesn’t fit on the back of the pen, which I found slightly enjoying. I like placing my cap there whilst applying liner because then I don’t lose it. This cap is also clear, which makes it harder to spot among your other things. Packaging: 4
The H&M eyeliner pen scored high on most of my criteria, and the overall grade is 4. I would maybe want to retract some percentage due to the fact that it is so un-waterproof, but since the product doesn’t state to be waterproof I don’t think that would be fare. But for wearing on a daily basis I would prefer my eyeliner to be more, at least water resistant, like I find my kohl pencil to be. For daily use I find this to be a little unstable for my taste since you can’t control the weather. But this is just my opinion and for indoor wear this eyeliner works beautifully.
I would recommend this product to someone who spends a lot of time indoors or in sunny weather, or if you, like me, are a newbie at applying liquid liner and want a good, inexpensive liner to practice with. Even though I found the application to be tricky with this product, I think that once you’ve mastered this, no liquid eyeliner pen will be a problem :)

Hi guys! This is another breakfast inspiration post for you guys :) As you might have noticed I’m a sucker for yoghurt, especially Russian yoghurt. I have some almost every morning, it’s just so delicious and at the same time good for you! Unlike other breakfast yoghurts it contains very little sugar, and that tiny sugar level is natural sugar from dairy. It also has quite a high fat percentage, which will keep you full longer, perfect for breakfast! It also contains protein and is very low in calories, which is always good :) Another reason I like Russian yoghurt so much compared to Turkish or Greek is that the Russian one is thicker and has a creamier consistency. It also has a milder, sweeter flavor, I find other yoghurts to be very sour and slightly bitter.
I like to add berries or fruits to my yoghurt, along with some type on nuts like hazelnuts, almonds or shredded coconut. This morning I picked some raspberries from my grandparent’s garden and added some chopped up hazelnuts. Devine! :D Berries are high in antioxidants that clean your body of toxins and like fruit they contain a good source of natural sugar and vitamins. Nuts are a great source of natural fat, which along with the yoghurt will keep you full longer, but I mostly add them for the crunch :) It’s natures own healthy cereal.
To this I also had an egg, which is another one of my breakfast staples. Eggs contain 15 of the 24 nutrients that your body needs every single day, so starting off your day with one or more are very beneficial. Eggs contain omega 3 and 6, along with 7 of 9 essential amino acids and vitamin B and D. Eggs are very nutritionally packed with a low calorie level, so it’s a great thing to include in your everyday diet :)

Hi guys! Today I’m gonna talk a bit about bread. To start off this post, my most favorite food in the whole entire world is bread! If I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life it would be sandwiches, so I’m a huge bread lover. But as most of you know bread isn’t that good for you if you are trying to be healthy. Most bread contain wheat and gluten which cause inflammation in your body and can make you feel bloated. White flour also turns into sugar very fast after entering the body, which will cause your blood sugar level to spike and you will be hungrier quicker, and sometimes just makes you want to eat more, and more, and more.
But there are ways to make your bread healthier, if you’re like me and just don’t wanna give bread up but still have a healthy lifestyle and healthy eating habits. So here are some tips on what you can do:
- Restrict your intake. Eat bread less often, this way you will still have bread in your diet but give your body the chance to fight the bad stuff off.
- Choose a whole grain alternative. Whole grains are very beneficial to your body and whole grain bread is a much better and healthier alternative to white bread on any given day!
- Add a lot of healthy toppings. If your sandwich contains a lot of good toppings, like meat, good cheese and veggies instead of only butter and some sugary spread they will be a lot healthier. And by adding a lot of toppings to your sandwich you also automatically lower the amount of sandwiches you eat, because you’ll get more full on every sandwich and therefore won’t be able to eat as many as you normally would. - Bake your own bread! This way you have full control over the ingredients you put in your body and you can avoid a lot of preservatives and other chemical substances that is normally found in store bought products. By baking your own bread you can also substitute wheat flour for other types of flour, like rice flour.

Hi guys! I’ve been doing a bit of online shopping these past few days, I kind of get hooked, not so good for my bank account :S I saw this outfit from Forever21 and fell in love with the picture! It just looks so chic, and I wish I would have the guts to wear it, but I’m not that gutsy unfortunately. Practically all of these pieces are out of my comfort zone, but somehow I still really, really love this outfit.
I really did like the glasses thought. I’ve been looking for a nice round shape of shades, but unfortunately they didn’t have them on the site. But I did find a very similar pair from H&M’s website that I’m currently waiting for to arrive :)

Hi guys! Today I wanted to share this recipe of raw brownies that I whipped up yesterday. It was the first time I’ve made them and they became a real crowd pleaser over at my grandparent’s house so I thought I’d share it with you :) It’s a really simple recipe and it doesn’t contain any wheat, gluten, lactose, eggs or sugar :)
For 12 big ones, put 1 dl of walnuts and 1,5 dl of almonds in a food processor and mix until they become almost a powder. A few pieces can be bigger than others :)
Add 6 dates and mix together nicely. Add 0,5 dl of organic peanut butter, 5 tablespoons of cacao powder, 1 tablespoon of honey, 2 tablespoons of shredded coconut and a pinch of salt. Blend all of this into a nice, sticky paste. Add more peanut butter if needed.
Line a small baking pan with some tinfoil and squeeze the mixture into an even layer, pressing down on it so there are no air bubbles. Leave in the fridge for minimum 2 hours and then cut into serving size pieces.

Hi guys! I just came back from the mall and thought I’d share a few of the things that I got :) When I came home and looked through the items I noticed a theme; they are all in black or silver :P
I mostly bought jewelry, but I also picked up two makeup items. I only went to two stores but ended up with 6 items :P
This leather/metallic bracelet I found on sale at Lindex for only 40 sek, which I’m very happy about! It has a button securing/releasing the leather strap.
Also on sale at Lindex (for 30 sek) I got these metallic triangular earrings. I’m actually going to dissemble these and make a necklace out of one of them :) What to do with the other one I don’t know :P Any suggestions?
At H&M I got this statement necklace in distressed silver. Once again its triangular, which has kind of become my thing recently, and it’s got this hard, edgy look which is right up my alley. This was 99 sek.
Also from H&M I picked up this silver metallic chain bracelet with a metal plate in the middle. I have very small wrists and I find it hard to find bracelets that aren’t too big for me, most of them slide right off, but today I managed to find 2 that fit me :D This one was 69,50 sek.
The first makeup item I picked up was a Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hour in the shade “Infinite White”. It’s a white shimmery/metallic shade that I am going to use for smoky eye looks. I have never tried any of these before but I swatched it in the store and it looked quite nice! I just hope I can get an even coverage with this, because I have noticed that white products most often don’t have the same kind of flawless and seamless coverage as other shades of makeup. This one costs 99 sek at Lindex.
Lastly I picked up a liquid eyeliner pen in black from H&M. I haven’t tried this one before and unfortunately seem to be a little weak color wise when I swatched it on my hand just now. I like my eyeliner to be jet black, but I will give this one a go and see how it looks on the actual eyes. THis eyeliner was 39,50 sek.

Hi guys! I’m sorry I’ve been quiet the past week, but I have been working on a HUGE health post that is coming up right now :) This is going to be a very long post, but please bear with me because this is about something VERY IMPORTANT.
I was watching a documentary called “Food Matters” the other day, and they mentioned that there are two dozen nutrients that the body needs to function properly and that we should stride towards implementing in our everyday diet. I decided to do some research into this to see what our bodies actually need, because I could not think of over 20 vital things that our bodies need. A quick google search later I had found a page dedicated to all the essential nutrients (source).
What I found is that there are 24 specific things that your body needs: 2 essential fatty acids, 9 essential amino acids, 15 essential minerals and 14 essential vitamins. Something very interesting that I found was that we actually doesn’t need to eat any carbs. At all. Carbohydrates can be synthesized from amino acids and fatty acids, byde novosynthesis and we don’t really need to eat any extra carbs. I won’t argue that carbs are a great source of energy if you are a pro athlete or something like that, but I thought that it was an interesting fact that the human body actually don’t need carbs to function properly.
Down below I have listed all the 24 essential nutrients that our bodies needs, along with some examples of foods that contain a high value of that nutrient. Take the time to read through this list and see how many of these nutrients you knew about, and if you can check all of them off in your daily diet.

As you can see there are alot of recurring foods on this list. For example, if you eat eggs you check 15 out of 24 nutrients off this list. Chicken is a food alternative in 14 of 24, and other often recurring items are nuts, fish/seafood, seeds, lentils/beans and dark leafy greens.
This research was a big eye opener for me and I now feel that I have a greater understanding for my body and it’s needs. In the future I will check this list when I plan my meals for the week so that I can get all 24 nutrients every single day.
Feeding your body the right things can really be SO beneficial for your health, both physically and mentally, and feeding it the wrong things can be deadly. Remember: It is never too early to start taking care of your body, but I can be too late!

Hi guys! Here is one of the recipes I was talking about in my previous post: Butternut squash soup with spicy chorizo and toasted pumpkin seeds :) This is a creamy soup with hints of spice, and a good recipe if you want something healthy. This is how you make it:
For 4 portions, peel and chop one union along with one clove of garlic and half a red chili pepper into tiny pieces. Cut about 500 grams of butternut squash into pieces, and don't forget to remove the peel. Heat up a nonstick pot and add some olive oil. Cook the onion, garlic, chili and butternut squash for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
In a big metal pot, heat up 5 dl of water along with one block of chicken stock. If you have your chicken stock already blended then just use 5 dl of that. Bring to a boil, and after the veggies has cooked, add them to the chicken stock. Cook for 15 minutes.
Remove the pot from the stove and use an immersion blender to mix the soup into a creamy consistency. We don't want any lumps or chunks, so mix well. Add 2 dl of cream and bring the soup back to a boil. Once boiling, season with salt, pepper and a squirt of lemon juice. Stir, and let simmer on the stove, but turn off the heat.
Heat up a clean and dry frying pan to a high temperature. Add a few tablespoons of pumpkin seeds to the pan and toast them. You will hear a popping sound and the seeds will get a brown coat. Stir the seeds so that both sides gets toasted. The toasting only takes about a minute. Put toasted seeds to the side.
Chop some chorizo with high meat content into pieces (mine was 90% meat). Cook them in the frying pan until golden, and drain the excess fat on a paper towel.
Pour the soup into bowls and garnish with some of the toasted pumpkin seeds and chorizo. In a side bowl, add some spinach with the rest of the seeds and chorizo. And there you have it! The dish is ready to serve :D

Hi guys! Through the month of July my boyfriend and I are keeping it clean when it comes to food. We have decided to exclude all wheat and sugar from our diet, and to become more involved with taking care of our bodies. We are also staying away from potatoes and anything fried, but that is something that isn't exclusive for this month.
Today is the second day of our clean month, and so far so good. I'm not gonna lie, I have some bad cravings for chocolate and ice cream, but I think it's mostly because I know I can't have it. That's how it usually works with me anyways :P
For this clean month I am trying out a bunch of new recipes, and I'd thought I'd share a few of them with you :) Yesterday we had butternut squash soup with spicy chorizo and toasted pumpkin seeds, and today we had chicken/beef with herb seasoned cauliflower mash and green soybeans. We hadn't tried any of these dishes before and I have to say to the most part we both were pleasantly surprised! :D Both of these recipes will be up on the blog in the following days, so stay tuned!

Hi guys! Here’s another healthy breakfast tip for you! I have been really in to Russian yoghurt lately. Have you tried it? It’s a lot sweeter and creamier than Greek or Turkish yoghurt, which I like when you’re just supposed to eat it with a spoon. Here I have paired it with some strawberries and chopped almonds. YUM! :D To stay full until lunch I also grabbed a Satsuma and a hardboiled egg :)
Hi guys! I came across this documentary called “Hungry for change”, which is about the food we eat are manipulated by the food industry by inducing chemicals that makes bad food seem more attractive to us. It talks a lot about what highly processed food does to our bodies and minds, and how dieting screws up our weight. Did you know that in most cases dieting will make you gain more weight then you lost? And did you know that the sweeteners in diet soda kills brain cells?
The documentary also talks a lot about what causes food addictions and how to turn it around. It gives alto of useful tips on how to get on the right track and what to eat to make your body the best I can be, beautiful from the inside out.
I have done a bit of research into this subject this past year and a lot of the things they talk about in this documentary I already knew, but I did learn a lot of new things as well. I highly recommend you taking 90 minutes out of your day to watch this if you want to know more about what different types of foods and products do to your body, and how our bodies are programmed to work. I think it can be a huge eye opener for most people, and it will probably change the way you think about food and what you feed your body, for the better!
So if you have time, please watch this documentary and tell me what your thoughts on the matter is. Remember: Knowledge is power!
“Hungry for change" is made on a scientific base and features studies from scientists, experts and people who have gone through a huge lifestyle change first hand. I found this to be a very genuine documented with the intent to educate the public, not to bully anyone into change. I think this is important, because to truly be able to change your life the will to change must come from within YOU. Not from anybody else. Hi guys! Here is a simple recipe for healthy chocolate pancakes that you can have for breakfast, as a snack or why not dessert? This recipe makes 3-4 pancakes.
Use a fork to turn one banana into mush. Then add 1 tablespoon of coconut flour, 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder and one tablespoon of honey to the banana and mix together. Add two eggs and combine well.
Heat a pan to medium heat and add some butter. Make sure the pan isn't too hot, the pankakes burn easy. Fry about one third of the batter at the time, and turn the pancake over when it’s solid enough to turn. Serve the pancakes with your favorite toppings, I had mine with Russian yoghurt and fresh strawberries, but you can also use whipped cream, blueberries, raspberries, apples with cinnamon… The combinations are endless!

Hi guys! Today I wanted to share my favorite soup recipe with you guys :) This leek soup is a favorite with both me and my boyfriend, and if I ask him what he wants for dinner, this soup is always a strong contender. To learn how to make this easy recipe, keep on reading :)
For four portions, take one big leak and rinse it to get rid of dirt and soil. Chop the whole thing up into small pieces. Heat up a non stick pot and add some butter. Cook the leaks while occasionally stirring for about 10 minutes, until they are shiny and slightly see-through.
Add 5 deciliters of water to the leaks, along with two blocks of veggie stock. Stir until the blocks dissolve.
Add 3 deciliters of milk and 3 deciliters of cream, and stir. Bring to a boil and let simmer for 10 minutes, while stirring occasionally. Add some salt and black pepper to taste and serve.
This soup can be stored in the fridge for a few days and you can heat it up on the stove or in the microwave when needed :) I hope you have enjoyed this recipe. Leave me a comment below if you try it :D Talk to you later!
Hi guys! Right now I’m on a mini vacation at my grandparents place. They have a big house with the most beautiful garden, and our two cats absolutely love coming here to play :) They spent two weeks here last summer while my boyfriend and I went to Cyprus, and they loved it so much that we thought we’d bring them back this year too :) Our apartment is kind of small and here they can run around all day long, and also play in the garden with my grandparent’s cat and the neighbors’ cats as well.
I spent a lot of time here growing up, and I absolutely love it here! Their house has a beautiful view over a lake and it’s always so peaceful here. They also have a big, beautiful garden with lots of different flowers and plants. I took a few pictures last week, and I thought I’d share them with you :)

Hi guys! Today has been a gorgeous, hot summer day :D I don’t know about you guys, but when it’s this hot outside, I enjoy foods and snacks that cool me down :) My current favorite is Russian yoghurt with sliced strawberries and nuts, preferably hazelnuts, but almonds work as well. I usually eat this for breakfast, but it also works great as a snack or even for dessert. This is such an easy treat, and the sweet flavor and the rich, velvety texture it’s a luxury snack for every day.
Hi guys! I went to the park the other day to enjoy the sunshine. Summer is finally here and I for one am going to take full advantage of that. The last two summers have been dreadful here so if the sun is shining, I’m outside :)
Today I thought I’d share one of my favorite summer outfits with you guys. I am really digging the high-low trend that has been going on for a while now and this black high-low skirt from H&M is so chick and it goes with absolutely everything! Paired with it I’m wearing a graphic black and white T-shirt from New Yorker. I love the Aztec lettering, Aztec patterns is another one of my favorite trends, and here I just wear it tied up to go with the high waisted skirt. I’m also wearing my wedges from Avenue and my favorite summer nail polish Lemon (which I wrote about in my previous post). I am also wearing sunglasses from H&M as well :)

This is the perfect outfit to wear over your bikini. It will take you to the park, the beach or for a shopping trip without looking out of place.

Hi guys! Today I wanted to share my current favorite nail polish; Lemon from Gina Tricot. You might remember this from my shopping trip to Stockholm, I wrote a post featuring this nail polish along with two other once from Gina Tricot, along with my Grease Lightning from Lush and my makeup sponge. Anyways, ever since I got this polish I have been loving it! I have painted and repainted my nails with this lovely yellow and I think it’s such a great shade for spring and summer :D
The first time I used it I thought it was a little hard to get an even coverage without my nails looking streaky, especially on my right hand since I’m a righty. But practice make perfect, and after a few times I got the technique down :) I wear this shade on both fingers and toes, and it’s such a happy pop of color to go with any summer outfit! I think this shade especially looks great with a tan.
They still sell this shade in stores, so I definitely recommend checking it out if you want a summery yellow shade :)

Hi guys! Yesterday I ordered a fitness hula hoop, or as we call it in Sweden “rockring”. I have been leaning towards buying one for a while now, and yesterday I finally went for it. I found one for a very reasonable price, so I thought there no longer were any excuses not to get one :)
I used to love hula hooping when I was a kid, and I was pretty good at it too. I hope some of that technique is still hiding away inside of me :P We’ll just have to see once it arrives, won’t we?
I have been really into working on my abs lately and that’s why I wanted to try working out with a hula hoop. I knew that hula hooping was a good workout, but I just found out that you can burn up to 600 calories in only an hour workout! That’s impressive! When I workout 45 minutes on my cross trainer I usually burn about 150 calories… That’s a HUGE difference.
The hula hoop I ordered weighs 0,7 kilos. There are heavier once but I thought I’d start out with this one. The cool thing about it is that you can pick it apart and then assemble it when you are going to use it, which means it is much easier to store tan a solid one. I just hope it doesn’t fall apart while I use it :P You can find this product here :)
I also thought I’d share this video for hula hoop cardio for beginners. If you are a newbie like me and want to try hula hooping out maybe this will be helpful for you. Did you know that you shouldn’t actually move in circular motions, but back and forth with your hips? Me neither!

Hi guys! Now that I am finally done with the essay I can really go back into web design again! Yey :D These past two and a half month have been very sparse on this front, but that is definitely about to change. I have two summer courses on web design and I am also going to extend my portfolio by creating new projects (but first I should finish my old once, but new ideas just seem more fun :P). Right now I'm working on giving my website a well needed facelift!
I'm drawing the inspiration from my blog, as well as from a logotype I designed earlier this year. I'm going for a graphic black and white look - simple, but elegant. This is a sneak peek of how it looks right now :)

Good morning guys! Sorry I have been sort of off the grid lately. I'm gonna try to make up for it!
This morning I wanted to share a recipe with you for my favorite breakfast smoothie; Raspberry/Blueberry. It's super easy and quick, and it's a great tip for those mornings when you are in a hurry.
Add some Turkish yoghurt to a blender, about 3 dl for two portions. I usually do this recipe with frozen berries, so add about 1 dl of frozen blueberries and 1 dl frozen raspberries to a microwavable bowl. Microwave them at medium heat for about a minute, then add the berries into the blender. Also add a splash of milk, or some natural yoghurt for a looser consistency.
Mix all of the ingredients together and pour into a glass. Make sure to mix the smoothie until all the berries are crushed. The smoothie should be a dark, vibrant color and the consistency should be able to keep a straw upright. Then it's just perfect! :)

Finnish designer Mats Lönngren has designed a series of outstanding watches for Hygge. These watches have a sleek and modern design, and are truly unique! I have never seen a design quite like it. I especially love the black and orange combination, it’s the clear favorite for me :)

This is how the product is presented on the web site: “The 3012 Series by Finnish designer Mats Lönngren for Hygge tells time using two rotating disks instead of traditional hands. The two disks are layered on top of each other. The bottom larger disk indicates the hours and the smaller top disk marks the minutes. Hi guys! Today I wanted to share some tips with you on how to keep up a healthy lifestyle. This can be tricky, especially in the beginning of changing your life to the better. And that’s why I thought I’d share something that has worked for me.
My journey to a healthier life didn’t only include food and exercise, but the entire wellbeing of everything that is me; body, mind and soul. To be successful in chaining your life I think it’s important to include everything, to sit down and really think about your life and consider which parts you’re unhappy with and how you would like them to be.
In my case, I was feeling really down and depressed, and it affected what I ate and how I treated my body. I had to be brutally honest with myself and examine what was going on inside me, and what I was doing wrong. If you can’t be 100% honest with yourself the chances are that you will hide away something you’re not proud of, and that problem will remain unsolved. This might affect your improvement on the other aspects of your life that you want to change, depending on what they are of course. But I would recommend being completely honest with yourself, put pen to paper and write down the things you are unhappy about and how you would want them to be. For example, you might be unhappy with how you look, and your goal is to feel comfortable dressed in a bikini while you’re at the beach. Or, maybe you are uncomfortable talking in front of a large group of people, and you want to be able to do that without feeling like you are going to through up. Whatever problems you might have, the key to solving them is admitting them to yourself and setting a clear goal of how you want it to be.
When you have done this, it’s time to take action. My lifestyle change mostly involved how I treated my body, but I also wanted to improve my self esteem. Starting to eat healthy and exercise can be a huge change if you’re not used to it, and it can be really hard to stay motivated. Cravings can cause you to want to give up, but did you know that it only takes the body two weeks to get rid of cravings? I didn’t believe this when I first heard it, but having gone through it myself I can now say that it is actually true. I wrote more about this in my post 'Steps towards a healthier lifestyle' and 'My Story', which I recommend you to read if you haven’t already. But after only sticking to eating healthy for a short period of time I noticed a huge change. I still craved certain things, but when I had them they did not taste the same as I remembered. Everything was overly sweet and made my stomach feel really weird. My body was rejecting the things it used to not be able to get enough of. Your body really gets smarter when you feed it the right things. So if you just force yourself to stick to a healthy diet (by the way, I hate the word diet but in lack of a good synonym I still use it) it will get much easier after that. The same goes with exercise, if you get your body used to it, you will be sure to notice that it reacts if it doesn’t get the exercise it is used to.
Now, to the tip. What I do help me stay motivated and on the right path when it comes to food and exercise is that I keep a lifestyle journal. In this journal I write down everything I eat during the day, along with my exercise. I usually eat 5 times a day; breakfast, lunch dinner and two snacks. Snacking is actually good for you, if you snack smartly. By eating less but more frequently you will keep your blood sugar level intact and you won’t have as much cravings. My food journal will usually look something like this:
I usually eat eggs, fruit or oatmeal for breakfast, but sometimes I have bread or yoghurt. Between breakfast and lunch I usually snack on a banana and a handful of nuts, mostly almonds, and for lunch I have the same thing as I ate for dinner the night before. Between lunch and dinner I usually have a juice, and not a store bought one, but one that I have made myself. And then I have dinner around 6 o’clock to half pas 6. I try to eat healthy during the week and then treat myself to some unhealthier foods or snacks during the weekend. This is what works for me, but you have to figure out what will work for you. I also write down how much water I drink. I am really bad at drinking water and I am trying to get myself used to drinking more. It is great for your body as well as for your skin, so by writing down the amounts of water I drink every day I hope to improve my water intake.
By keeping a food journal you get 100% knowledge of everything you feed your body. This might open your eyes and show you that you actually eat more bad things that you thought, but it will also work as a reminder of how good you have been on the days where you feel like giving up. Keeping a food journal will give you an overview of what you feed your body, and it will help you keep your food intake in check.
Underneath my food journal I write up my exercise. Some days I don’t write anything, because I don’t work out every single day. Your body needs time to rest, so a few days of rest during the week is nothing bad. If I have been to the University my exercise journal might look like this:
2 workout videos (abs + legs), 1 hour walk.
I write both my workouts and when I walk back and forth to the University, because walking/biking is also exercise. Keeping an exercise journal will help you get an overview on when and how you work your body, and it will keep you motivated not to only have empty days in your journal.
The last thing I do, which is more related to mental health than physical, is that I write what the Swedish self esteem guru Mia Törnblom refers to the ‘feel good’ book. This is a simple exercise to improve your self esteem, but I think it is something that can do us all some good even if you feel like you have a satisfactory self esteem. This exercise is to write down 3 things that you have done during the day that have been good. For example it can be: “It was good that I resisted that chocolate bar” or, if you’ve had a really bad day; “It was good that I didn’t scream at my boyfriend for forgetting to buy more milk”. This might seem silly to some people, but some days it can be really hard to find 3 things that you have done during the day that have been good.
The next step is to write 3 things that you are grateful for. An example could be: “I am grateful for my friends who helped me move”, or on a bad day “I’m grateful that this day is over so I can go to bed”. Writing down things that you are grateful for can give you a bit of insight into your own well being, as well as make you think about things that you namely take for granted. For example, I usually write “I am grateful that I live in a country without war”. This is something you might normally forget, but it doesn’t mean it still isn’t important.
The last step is to write 3 things that you need help with. You can start these sentences either with “Help me to…” or “I need to…”. An example can be: “Help me to get over my fear of public speaking.” Or, “I need to stop eating sugar every day”. Admitting to yourself the things you need help with is a great way to personal growth, and you will learn things about yourself that you maybe didn’t before.
As I said earlier, these three steps can some days be really easy, and other days be really hard. But I recommend that you try this out if you are going through a big life change. It might just work for you as well.
So, in conclusion. To go through a lifestyle change can be hard, but if you admit to yourself what parts of your life you want to change and how you want them to be, it will be much easier to handle. By keeping a lifestyle journal where you write down everything you eat in a day and the exercise you get you will have a great overview of your life and how you treat your body. This will open up your eyes and bring motivation. It’s much harder to cheat when you have the evidence of your accomplishments in black and white in front of you. And, if you want to, write down 3 good things you did during the day, along with 3 things that you are grateful for and 3 things you will need help with. This will give you a greater understanding of yourself and might just help you along the way.

I hope that this might help some of you who are finding it hard to adapt to a new lifestyle, or that you can find this useful in some way. Hi guys! Picked up these roasted coconut chips from the supermarket yesterday. These premium hand cooked coconut chips are all natural, no preservatives and no trans fat. They have lovely crunch to them and that sweet coconut flavor. And, they are low in sugar, only 6 grams out of 100. I highly recommend these if you're into coconut and want a healthier, but still delicious snack :D

The first thing I got was 'Grease Lightning' from Lush. This is my first ever Lush product and I am really looking forward to using it. Grease Lightning is a spot treatment that gets rid of blemishes. According to Lush it: - Gets rid of ‘unwelcome visitors’: Everyone can use Grease Lightning on unsightly blemishes. - For a matte finish: Grease Lightning also works well to control excess oil, especially your T-zone. - 500 green grapes in every batch: Combat the dirt that builds around spots with fresh green grapes.
I will try this out for a few weeks and then come back with a review :)
The next thing I bought was three nail polishes from Gina Tricot. If you buy three you get a discount, so that's why I picked up so many. I got the shade 'Lemon', which is a soft neon yellow.
The next shade is called 'Blue Bug' and is almost a holographic shade. It reminds me of the oil spills you sometimes see at gas stations, she polish shifts color from a greenish blue to a beautiful purple. The last one is called 'Luxurious' and is a soft nude, champagne color with lots of sparkle. From Gina Tricot I also got a beauty buffer, or makeup sponge, which I have used to blend in my concealer. Hi guys! Bought this juicer the other day. I saw that they had a great offer at Kjell & Company, and after a day of consideration I went and bought it. I have been in to juicing for the last couple of months, even since I stared on this healthier path, and before I got this juicer I have used my Magic Bullet, which has components for juicing. I have noticed that the MB isn't up to part though. The motor isn't strong enough and since all the fruit waste en up inside of the container it gets full and overworked quickly. So I invested in this juicer from Rubicson, a brand that I have never heard of before so it was quite a gamble. I have only used it (or juiced it :P) one time so far, but I really like it! It is powerful and I notice a big difference from the Magic Bullet which I am used to using. I seem to get more juice out of each fruit with the Rubicson, and the waste ends up in its own container, which is great. It is easy to wash and you get this little brush that really helps a lot with cleaning the filter, which was a real drag with my MB. It does take up a lot of space thought, but if I can fit it into my miniature kitchen, I bet you can to :P
I made this juice with grapefruit, mango, peaches and pineapple. I call it "Sunrise".

Hi guys! Had this really brutal and exhausting workout this morning that I thought I’d share with you. If you are a keen reader of this blog you know that I am really in to the Tune it up workout videos at the moment, and I tried a new one this morning that is part of their wedding series. And no, I’m not getting married, but this routine won’t only make you fit into your wedding dress, but will tone your body up for the summer.
The first two exercises made me think that this video would be very easy, but boy was I wrong! If you want a challenge, do try this workout :) It made me feel great afterwards even though it was a pain to go through.

Hi guys! I thought I’d tell you more about my trip to Stockholm last weekend. As a recap, my boyfriend and I went to see a concert with Josh Groban, and that’s why we went to Stockholm.
The concert didn’t start until 7:30 at night, so when we first got to town we did some shopping. Neither of us is really familiar with the town, so we used the GPS on Carl’s phone to get around. After we had parked we started our shopping trip at Lush on Kungsgatan, and made our way from there. We were trying to find a mall, but the once we found only had these weird stores we’d never heard of. So we walked around, not really knowing where we would end up. The weather was absolutely beautiful though, so it didn’t matter that we didn’t know where we were going :P We had lunch and then walked back to the car, and it turned out that if we had just gone the other direction from the parking place we would have found our way to the right stores :P And the parking fee! OMG… More that twice what we are used to paying.
We stayed at the Best Western Capital, which is located just a few stops from Ericsson Globe with cable car. Our room was small but cozy, and the best part was that there was a bathtub! We only have a shower at home, so it was a nice treat :)

We didn’t know how long it would take us to get to the Globe, so we ended up getting there an hour before the concert started. Carl bought a t-shirt and we got some snacks. The concert was okay. Josh only had two songs that I recognized, but the high light of the show was when he spoke between songs. He is really funny and likable, as well as a great singer. Turns out he’s a secret sicko… Hard to explain, you had to have been there :D
The next morning we enjoyed the breakfast buffet before we packed our things and checked out. Both of us had a lot of studying to do so we left at about 8.30 in the morning.

So, that was our trip! It was short, but I think I prefer that. I am not really a huge fan of Stockholm, probably because I feel completely lost there, but it was fun to do something different for a change :) Talk to you guys later!
Hi guys! We had some friends over last weekend and I made Raw strawberry ice cream cake for desert. As the name states, this ice cream cake is completely raw, which means that it is 100% sugar, wheat and dairy fee. This is a great treat if you are allergic, trying to watch your weight or just want a healthier alternative.
My cake turned out more on the pop stickle side in terms of consistency, so for me this wasn't a creamy kind of ice cream cake. I have only made this once so I am not completely sure if this is how it is supposed to turn out, but I was definitely pleasantly surprised by the results. And the guest liked it too, which is the most important part :) To learn how to make this easy recipe, keep on reading below!
Put 250 grams of almonds in a food processor and ground to a fine powder. (When I made my cake a piece of plastic broke off while doing this, so make sure you have a food processor that's up to the job!) Add in 12 dried dates and mix until the mixture is well combined. Press the dough into the bottom of a cake pan with a removable bottom. Make sure you press it firmly.
Clean out the food processor. Then add 3 bananas and 400 grams of fresh strawberries. Mix until smooth. Add 1 tbs of agave syrup and a squeeze of fresh lime. Mix again in the food processor and pour the cream into the cake pan.
Cover the cake pan and keep in freezer until about 15-20 minutes before it's time to serve. Then take the cake out and decorate it with strawberries. Put the cake back in the freezer once you have served all the pieces you need.

Hi guys! Just a quick update: I am heading to Stockholm tomorrow with my boyfriend Carl. We are going shopping during the day and at night we are going to see Josh Groban play live in Ericsson Globe! It will be the first time that I visit Globen, as we say in Sweden, and I am so exited! It will also be the first time that I see Josh Groban live. It was Carl who really wanted to go see his concert and I, being a huge music lover, grabbed the opportunity for some great music. He has a wonderful voice and I expect great thing from him, though I don’t really know any of his songs so I won’t be singing along. Maybe I should have checked him out on Spotify? Hmm… After the concert we are spending the night at a hotel, which will be the first time Carl and I spend in a real hotel in Sweden. It’s weird to think that we have been together for 6 years and never done this before… It’s a weekend of many first, I guess :)
I haven’t actually visited Stockholm that many times, which seems weird since it is our capital. I hope for good weather and a lot of nice stores and cafés. I really want to go to Lush, because I have never tried any of their products but I have heard so much great things about them. I Googled it (btw isn’t Google the greatest thing ever!?) and found that Lush has three locations so I hope we can find one of them. Since none of us are used to the city we will have to see where we wind up. If worst comes to worst we have a GPS in Carl’s cell phone :P So that is what I’m doing this weekend! I will update you guys on our adventures once we come back home and give a review of the hotel, the concert and the thing I suspect I will buy :P Are there any Lush product you recommend I check out? Or is there any other stores in Stockholm that I simply can’t miss? Please let me know in the comments!
Hi guys! Today I wanted to share a short list of foods that are very beneficial for your body and your health.
Did you use to hear that carrots were good for your eyes when you were a kid? Me too! But this is not just a story parents tell their kids to make them eat their veggies, it is actually true! Carrots contain lots of beta carotene, which is great not only for your eye sight, but for your skin as well.
This is one of my favorite thing to eat at the moment! Strawberries contains a lot of vitamin C which boosts your immune system. They are also antioxidant rich, which helps fight cancer. So stuff those bellies full of strawberries this summer :)
3. Celery In my post about Wheat and dairy free food I mentioned that where are lots of veggies that can give you the calcium you need without drinking milk. Celery is one of these veggies. Celery is also a great source of vitamin C, which as a mentioned above boost your immune system, and it is also high in fiber which is very beneficial for your digestive system.
This fruit has a lot of benefits! It contains vitamin E which helps control acne, controls your cholesterol levels, helps digest fat and is known to prevent cancer. Mango also contains glutamine, which is great for memory and muscle retention, it has and digestive enzymes for nutrient breakdown and absorption. In short, a super fruit!
5. Nut butters
When you here 'nut butter' you probably think of peanut butter, right? But there are so many other nut butters available! If you like nuts, then check out almond butter, cashew butter, hazelnut butter, macadamia nut butter, pecan butter, pistachio butter or walnut butter as an alternative to peanut butter. Nut butters has a lot of monounsaturated fats, which are great for digestion and an excellent energy source. Just make sure your nut butter is organic, with no sugar added!
6. Banana chips
Dried pieces of banana is a great alternative if you want a healthier snack. They contain potassium, which is a great source of electrolytes and a little bit of healthy sugar.

Good morning guys! As I wrote in my previous post that I had a very hectic week last week. I had a lot to do and absolutely no energy. Every morning when I woke up I felt too tired to get out of bed, which resulted in that I didn’t get any workouts in last week. Working out would probably have made me feel more energetic, but I couldn’t bare myself to get started.
This week I’m back to business and have kick started this week with a new workout video. It’s from the YouTube channel Be Fit, and it is a video in a series designed to give you a six pack in 6 weeks.
I’m not looking to get at six pack, to be honest I don’t think six packs are very attractive in women, but I do want to get a ripped stomach so I thought I’d give it a go. This video is definitely more intense than the once I have been posting earlier. It’s a 35 minute workout focusing strictly on your abs, but I find that your legs and arms also get a nice workout. I didn’t manage to go though it in one go, I had to pause it a couple of times throughout.
Another thing is that the tempo is far higher in this video that the once I have posted earlier, and they don’t guide you through all the exercises. But I guess after you have done this video a few times that you get the hang of it.

Hi guys! Sorry I have been a little off the grid lately. My life is pretty hectic right now with putting the final touches on our essay before graduation so school has taken up a lot of my time. I promise I’ll do better soon :)
Today I wanted to share a kickass nail polish with you guys! This shade, that I have been wearing on my nails this week, is ‘Fire Coral’ from E.L.F. It’s perfect for the transition into summer! I find it to be a more orangey red kind of tone, rather than a coral which the name states. This fiery shade will definitely get you noticed and get your nails hot for summer! :D
I have my fair share of E.L.F nail polishes, and I have to say that I like most of them very much. They have a large variety of colors and the formula and lasting power is great for the price. I find buying more inexpensive nail polishes is the best alternative for me, because I find that they have about the same lasting power, if not better, than more expensive nail polishes. The thing about the E.L.F nail polishes though is that they do a very poor job with translating the actual color of the polish onto their website. You can’t trust that the shade you see on your screen is the one you are going to get. Some pictures are too dark, whilst others are two light, and some completely different on all points. I once ordered the shade ‘Champagne’, which on the site looked like a soft and light champagne color, but what I received was a dark pinkish brown kind of shade that I have never seen anywhere else in my life. But apart from that one, I like all the other shades I have bought :)

Hi guys! Bought some flowers for our balcony the other day :D I am really looking forward to living in a place with a garden, but this will do until then. It’s the first time we’ve ever bought flowers for our balcony even though we have lived here for two years, so I think it was about time :) I love the splash of color it brings, it just looks so happy. And I think we can all use some more of those little things in our everyday life that bring us happiness.
The yellow and orange once are my favorite :) What do you guys think?
Good morning guys! This morning I thought I'd share another workout video with you guys :) I really enjoy the videos on Live Strong Woman, since I do most of my workouts at home. This one I've had my eyes on for quite some time but haven't had the right equipment to do. It is from Tune it up Tuesdays and you do need a pair of dumbbells to do this workout.
The routine is called 'Love your total body workout' and it is designed to let your entire body work, as the name implies. One thing I have to say though is that this video is a little messier than the previous once I have shared with you. This one takes place inside a studio and I feel like the trainers are cramped in into a too small space. The camera angles aren't really the best, but when you have figure out the exercises I don't think this is a problem.
I am really looking forward to trying this new routine out with my new dumbbells! I like switching my workout routine up to incorporate new videos, that way you won't get bored with it.

Earlier this week I made bacon wrapped pork with green asparagus, to standing ovations at home. This is a really easy recipe that has volumes of flavor, and it looks professional on the plate, too! This is a great dinner if you are having guests over, or if you just want something extra.
Season some boneless pork meat with salt, black pepper, barbeque spice and garlic powder. Press on the spices to make them penetrate the meat. Be sure to season both sides of the pork. Wrap the meat in some bacon, making sure that the ends overlap for better holding power. Heat a pan up to medium-high heat, and when it’s hot add some butter. Cook the bacon wrapped pork on both sides for about 4-5 minutes on each side, depending on how thick your meat is.
At the same time, boil some green asparagus in another pan for five minutes. When done, drain them and put the pan back on the heat. Add some butter and salt to the pan and cook the boiled asparagus until they have gotten some color.
Returning to the meat, once both sides have been cooked, pour some cream over the meat into the pan. This, along with the juices form the bacon and the spices in the meat will create a lovely sauce. Turn the meat over and let the sauce bubble for a few minutes, until lovely brown.
Plate the bacon wrapped meat on top of the asparagus and pour some sauce on top. I served this with my ordinary dinner salad, but you can also serve it with potato wages or French fries if you’d like. I hope you have enjoyed this recipe! Hi guys! Got these bad boys the other day :) Found them at a store in Örebro where they were on sale, but of course they did not have my size. So when I got to Karlstad I looked for theme there and luckily they had my size! :) But then, of course, they weren't on sale so I had to get them at full price. But I think they are worth it! They will go perfectly with everything in my closet this summer :D
Good morning guys! It is a beautiful morning and I have just finished my breakfast after my morning exercise. Today my boyfriend and I went for a morning walk/jog in the woods. It was nice to workout outside for a change, I always do my exercise at home so it was nice to get some fresh air and bird song in the morning. It is only Wednesday and I have already gotten three of my four workouts in this week :) Awesome! When we came home I made some breakfast for us; A fruit pale with honeydew melon, strawberries, red grapes and kiwi, together with a hardboiled egg. For Carl I made scrambled eggs with bacon and sausage, with some strawberries and green grapes on the side.
Today me and Michelle is having our second meeting with our mentor about our essay. I really hope we are on the right track this time because we are running out of time! Wish me luck guys!

Hi guys! I came across this recipe today for a wheat and sugar free treat, so I thought I'd share it with you :) It is a quick and easy recipe that is done in less than 30 minutes, perfect if you need whip up something last minute. I think I made mine a little too big, next time I'll make them in a smaller size. To learn how to make these Coconut Cones, keep reading below!
Melt 25 grams of butter into a bowl. Wisk in one large egg and add 100 grams of shredded coconut. Mix all the ingredients together and spoon it up into cone shapes on a baking tray with some baking paper. Squeeze the mixture into cone shapes and bake in the oven at 175°C (347°F) for 10-15 minutes, just until they have gotten some color on top and bottom. Leave the coconut cones to cool off for a few minutes, then serve.

Hi guys! Today is a beautiful day and I thought I’d share a really easy and delicious recipe with you; Chicken and coleslaw. This is one of my favorite recipes at the moment, and it is so easy to do :) The truth is, I never use to like coleslaw until I made it myself, and now I can’t get enough of it! So if you want to learn how I make this tasty and healthy dish, keep reading below :)
Season some chicken breast with salt, black pepper, chicken spice and garlic powder. Roast them in the oven for about 30 minutes at 200°C (400°F). If you want, you can also put them on the grill.
Chop some cabbage into thin strands and put them in a bowl. Add some cream fraîcheand mayonnaise, and season with salt, black pepper and Italian salad spice. Mix everything together so that the cabbage gets evenly coated in the lovely creaminess. Keep in the fridge for later.
Put some frozen corn cobs in boiling water and cook for 8 minutes. Melt some butter in a pan and cook the corn cobs in the butter. Add salt and cook until they have some nice color. You can also grill them a few minutes on each side if you are having a BBQ.
Make a salad with some mixed greens, baby tomatoes and cucumber and drizzle some walnut oil on top. Season with salt, black pepper and Italian salad spice. Give it a toss and serve with the chicken, the coleslaw and the corn.

Good morning guys! Here is another tip on what you can eat for a healthy breakfast :) I have been really in to this ‘buffet style’ lately, where you can pick and choose as you wish. This breakfast consists of a fruit platter with honeydew melon, red grapes, passion fruit and kiwi along a hardboiled egg and a bowl of natural, unsweetened yoghurt with mixed nuts and shredded coconut. This is a breakfast that will make you full without feeling heavy, a great way to start your day!
Well, I hope you have enjoyed this healthy breakfast idea. Now I’m off to do my morning workout followed by a study session. I have been lazy these past couple of days so I have to make up for that today.

It is a whole world to discover out there and they all make it seem so fun! I almost want to try it myself but I don’t know if I have the guts :P
Anyways, one of my favorite beauty gurus on YouTube is Missglamorazzi. If you’re in to the whole beauty video thing then you have probably already heard of her, but if you haven’t then check her channel out right here. But this post isn’t actually about her, it’s about her boyfriend Luke Conard, who also is I great YouTuber (but of course not in the beauty and makeup department). He is really funny and he is also an incredible singer, so I thought I’d share this beautiful cover of Demi Lovato’s ‘Skyscraper’ that he sings together with this other talented singer and YouTuber Landon Austin. These guys have made a bunch of song together, some covers and some originals, and they sound absolutely amazing together! I fell in love with their sound and I will be browsing through their videos to find more hidden treasures.

Good morning guys! Yesterday I started thinking of redesigning my blog slightly. Nothing major, but I think the change will make a great impact! I’m thinking of moving all my navigation to the top of the page, which would make me able to widen the area for my posts. This would mean that I could post bigger pictures, which I think is important in a blog.
Every time I get an idea for a web project I always make a sketch in Photoshop to visualize my idea. Then I use the Photoshop file as a guideline when I make the website in Dreamweaver. The final product doesn’t turn out a 100% like the sketch, but for me it is definitely a lot easier to have my idea on paper to reference to than only the thoughts in my head.
What do you guys think of my new design proposal? Maybe you like my old design better? Let me know in the comments! This change is ultimately for you guys, so that my blog will be as easy and pleasant to read as possible.

I have sworn off sugar for the time being, but before I turned up the volume on my healthy lifestyle I treated myself to one last guilty pleasure; cake pops. I know that traditional cake pops have a stick in them, but this time I skipped the stick. It was really a lot easier and went a lot faster to make them :) If you want to learn how to make them, keep reading below.
Take 13 chocolate cookies with chocolate filling and ground them up into a fine powder using a food processor or by hand. I use the type ‘Ballerina Kladdkaka’, but if you can’t get a hold of Swedish cookies you could use the Oreos with chocolate cream or any other type of chocolate cookie with chocolate filling that you prefer. Add 50 grams of cream cheese to the crumbs and form a nice dough using your fingers. Form small balls, about 20 of them, and put them on a plate and store them in the freezer.
Melt 200 grams of dark chocolate over some hot water. I use the Marabou Dark chocolate because I think it’s the perfect amount of cacao. I would recommend that you do use a darker chocolate, because otherwise the pops might be overly sweet. Once the chocolate is melted, take the cookie balls from the freezer and roll them in the melted chocolate. Sprinkle some sprinkles on top while the chocolate is still soft. Store the cake pops in the fridge, or in the freezer if you have some left over that you want to save for a later occasion.
This is just a lovely treat that I can’t keep my hands off of, so to be sure I ‘stay on the health wagon’ I won’t be making them for a while :P If you love creamy, chocolaty goods you really need to give these a try! I came across this combo a few summers back and have loved it ever since! I don’t know what makes this combo so successful to me, I can’t really describe it. I just think the two flavors marry beautifully and I just never want my breakfast to end!

Hi guys! A few weeks ago I bought two new cookbooks on Raw Food. It's a trend going around right now to eat 'raw', which in simple terms mean that you only eat natural, vegetarian ingredients that has not been cooked on heat higher than 42°C. This is because when a lot of things are cooked on higher heat than this, lots of the nutritious elements get lost.
When I bought the books I didn't know so much about raw food, and after reading them I can definitely say that I could never go 100% raw. I could never cope with never eating meat, dairy or hot food, but there are a lot of raw things that you can incorporate into your everyday diet without having to go 100% raw.
The recipes that I really found a likening to is the once for deserts, snacks and other 'sweet' things. In the book 'Raw Delight' they have listed pies, cakes, ice creams and other treats that are made entirely on fruit, berries, nuts and other natural ingredients. they are 100% sugar, wheat and dairy free, which means they can be eaten by almost everyone, except for those with nut allergies. They even have recipes for 'whipped cream' to go with their pies that are made from cashews!
Even though I'm a little skeptical to a few of the thing in here, like cream made from nuts and chocolate without actual chocolate, I look forward to trying a few of these recipes out to see how they turn out. I'm especially curious to try the treats in pic 3. I think they look delicious so I really look forward to try them out.

Good morning guys! This morning my body was still a little sore from my workouts this weekend, so I decided to do some yoga since it focuses a lot on stretching the body. I am a total yoga newbie, but I have always wanted to try it. I found some great videos on YouTube, on the same channel that I have talked about earlier when I wrote about the ‘Tune it up Tuesdays’ videos.
The great thing about the videos series that I found is that they have one for beginners, one for intermediate and one advanced, so you can really choose the level that suits you. I, of course, choose the beginners level and I have worked out to them to times this far and loving it! Needless to say I’m not nearly as flexible as Tara Stiles who does the videos. My legs are bent almost constantly and I tip over from losing by balance. But I will get there :) I just have to take it one step at the time.
If you also have wanted to try yoga but never gotten around to it, or if this post just simply sparked your interest, I can really recommend this series. It’s called ‘The Yoga Solution’, and you can find it on the channel ‘Live Strong Woman’. Here is a video that I have been using twice. The first time I used it it was almost disastrously bad, but don’t be discouraged, today went lots better :D
I am in love with our living room at the moment! Usually it is full of red decor, since red is my all time favorite color, but when spring started to get closer I felt like switching it up slightly, so I bought a few new things.
The soft yellow of the candles and bright green of the apples really goes well with the black and white background. New white and sheer curtains lets so much more light in, and it makes the room feel brighter and fresher.
Spoiler: The flowers in the window are fake! We made the choice to buy fake flowers the last time we were at IKEA, because our just died on us all the time. When I was younger I swore to myself that I would NEVER buy fake flowers, but I have to admit they have come a long way in developing them since then. The selection now reaches further than super obvious fabric roses. I think that these look really natural and when they get dusty you can just give them a quick shower :P Never again half dead to dead plants, is there anything more depressing looking? Not in my oppinon.
Good evening everyone! I thought I’d share a quick and tasty recipe with you guys: Pizza Sandwiches. A slightly healthier alternative to ordinary pizza, but the number one perk is that it is super family friendly! Everyone can choose their own toppings and make their own favorite. We made one with ham, olives and tomatoes, and another with ham and fresh pineapple. And of course extra black pepper on top!
Recipe: Mix one part ketchup and one part chili sauce in a small bowl. Add your favorite spices, I used salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili flakes and oregano. Mix and spread on slices of whole grain toast. For super crunchy crust, put the slices in a toaster frits. Add your favorite toppings and put a few slices of cheese on top. Cook in the oven until the cheese has melted, about 5 minutes at 200°C heat. Enjoy! :D

Hi guys! If you are friends with me on Facebook, then you might have seen that I wrote on my status this morning that Carl and I were going to the Trend Fair today. I saw an ad for this on my way home from the University the other day and researched it online. The Trend Fair is 3 fairs in one, one focusing on trends in home décor, one on technical gadgets and one on lifestyle things, such as exercise and fashion. Sounds great, doesn’t it? Well, it wasn’t. To be blunt it was pretty underwhelming. We got there, walked round for ten minutes, and then we were out of there. There wasn’t anything there that was remotely interesting, and I have no idea why they called it ‘trend’ fair, because I saw nothing even close to trendy. So that was a complete waste of money, which I was really sad about, because the description of it sounded so promising. But it was a complete let down and I am so disappointed. So if you are in the Örebro area tomorrow and have considered giving the trend fair a visit, I just want to say that it might not be how you pictured it… But, over to more positive things about my day :)
The weather was wonderful so we headed into town. I had my camera with me, of course, and we took some pictures along the way. Some ice cream and sunshine quickly changed my mood to the better, and the flowers that bloom all over the place are so pretty! I tried to get a wasp to pose for me, but it really didn’t want to :P

The looks I am going to show you is from a designer named Michelle Lesniak Franklin. She was my favorite designer this season, because she has the perfect combination of hard and soft. She creates fashion with flare, and I think her clothes are pieces of art.
The inspiration for this collection was a lone female wolf who has lost her pack and now need one last kill to survive, a metaphor for her own journey on Project Runway.

Hi guys! I know this post is endlessly long, but please bare with me :)
During my 22 years on this earth I have time and time again made the attempt to change my lifestyle and get on a healthier path, and as many times as I have tried, I have failed. The reason for this, I see now, is that I tried to make the change for all the wrong reasons.
Every time I made the effort and planed out how I would get more exercise into my busy life or how I would change my diet for the better, I always did it because I felt I was supposed to. Everyone knows you’re supposed to eat healthy, you are supposed to work out a few times a week. You are just supposed to. And if you don’t you automatically have a slightly lower value in the eyes of society, in the eyes of others.
Because of this pressure that surrounds us, the thin and muscular body ideal that circulates in media and society as a whole that everybody knows is the norm, it puts a HUGE amount pressure on all of us. It tells us that if you don’t fit the norm to the T you are just not good enough. This notion that we all carry with us creates a bump in our self esteem. It pushes us to change our lives with the starting point in that there is something wrong with us and that we should change into something else to become more accepted by our peers and fit into that mold that, let’s face it, only a very low percentage of people actually fit into.
I say this is bullshit. The only thing this helps us with is failing. This makes us put ridiculous demands on ourselves, like exercising 6 times a week and give up all the things we enjoy to eat. Maybe that approach works for a week, maybe longer if you are strong willed. But sooner or later you will ‘screw up’. Maybe you cave for the sweet taste of your favorite chocolate bar or just get tired of the whole thing because it sucks all the positive energy out of you. Being and living healthy shouldn’t be a chore, it should be a way of life. To succeed you need to be comfortable with your choices and the steps that you take. If it ends up feeling like a burden you will give it up eventually. A healthy lifestyle is supposed to motivate you, not bring you down. The whole point is for you to feel better about yourself and your life, which you simply can’t I you’re miserable.
My tip is to go at it at your own rate. If you are the kind of person that can’t make a full force change, then don’t. Start slow, and build your way up. If you think you can handle a harder challenge, then put in a higher gear. The most important part is that you stay motivated, stay positive and don’t think too far ahead. You can’t climb Mount Everest in one go.
I have gone one and a half month into my new, healthier lifestyle, and this is the first time that it has really clicked for me. This time I’m doing it for all the right reasons. I do it because I want to treat my body the way it deserves to be treated, so that it can be the best it can be. Because if your body is happy and satisfied, you will be too. Happiness and positivity is side-effects of a healthier lifestyle, not disappointment and despair. If you don’t feel an increased happiness level, you aren’t doing it right.
The most important thing to succeed in changing your lifestyle for the better is to customize it to YOU. Everyone is different, and everything doesn’t work the same way for everyone. As soon as you realize this, you are half way there. Find ways to incorporate healthy foods and exercise into your everyday life on your own terms. And to do this, there is really only one step: Explore, explore, EXPLORE!
Try new things to see what fruits and veggies you like. There is no point forcing yourself to eat something you find truly disgusting just because it is good for you. There are so many things out there to choose from so if you hate broccoli, don’t eat it! Find something else. It’s as simple as that. The same goes for exercise. If you hate running, try Zoomba instead. Or tennis. Or swimming. Whatever floats your boat. You don’t have to join the gym in you don’t want to. There are a lot of things you can do at home that are as effective and also free. If you only set your mind to it there are no limitations. All you need is a little time a few times throughout your week. And I am sure you can find it if you try.
I have to say that I have always despised sports and exercise. Throughout my whole adolescent life it has always been everything about competition. You have to be able to run a particular distance in a certain timeframe, jump this far or score his many goals to be good enough. And I always sucked at all of those things and always came in last. That didn’t exactly give me the will or courage to go out there and try to find a sport to get involved to. There are just so many times you can feel useless until you stare to believe you are. But this time around I have left all of those activities behind and instead I have explored what else the world has to offer. And I have found several different things that I actually like and look forward to. Yes, you got it right. I actually look forward to exercise these days. There is something I never thought I would say.
Finding the things that work for you really makes all the different in the world. Try new recipes and if you don’t get it right the first time, try it again. This way you get to explore new things and you will find out what you like and what to avoid. Don’t be afraid, just give it a go. And if you have one of those chocolate bars once in a while it isn’t the end of the world. It won’t undo all the good you have done. Sometimes you just need something comfortingly tasty.
I know this post is super super long, but it is an important topic. I just hope that I might have opened your eyes if you are struggling with the same things I have struggled with time and time again. Just think about yourself and you aspirations. Don’t try to meet some ridiculous ‘standard’ or to fit into some mold. Just be the best you can be, for yourself. And remember: Treat your body right- it’s the greatest thing you got!
Hi guys! My camera has arrived and I am super excited to get to know it and learn how to take great pictures. So far I have only used it on auto mode with some traditional point-and-shoot action, but I look forward to learning how to tweak the manual settings in order to get really interesting pictures.
My boyfriend and I went outside to get some pics of today’s outfit, but I get really stiff in front of the camera so I soon goofed off and did some silly poses instead. It takes some getting used to, being in front of the camera, as well as being behind it.

Then check out this fruit salad, not only is it a tasty snack, but you can also bring it for lunch. All you need is a fridge to store it in, and it will taste as fresh as when you made it.
The secret to storing a fruit salad successfully is citrus juice. If you squeeze some juice from an orange over the rest of the contents in your fruit salad then it will keep vibrant and fresh without the fruit pieces starting to brown. You can even make it the night before if you’re in a hurry, just squeeze the juice over it and keep it in a box in the fridge.

Good morning guys! Sorry I didn’t get back to you last night. I went swimming yesterday and ended up beating my personal record :) I swam 2 km (1,24 miles) in 72 minutes. The first one I finished in 37 minutes and the other one in 35 without any downtime in between, which I feel really happy about. So after returning home I was starving so I quickly made a taco gratin that I ate in front of the TV to an old episode of Desperate Housewives. So between my exhaustion and the essay work that I had to cram in I didn’t get a chance to blog much yesterday. But now I’m back, feeling energized and thought I’d share I pic of today’s breakfast.
I had I fruit plate with a quarter honeydew melon, some blue grapes (my favorites at the moment!), some banana, a passion fruit and a hardboiled egg. I really enjoy having fruit in the morning! It makes my stomach satisfied without feeling heavy, and I get a butt load of vitamins that will help me get through the rest of the day :) And an egg gives me that little something that is warm, which I think every meal needs!
Soon I’m off to the University. Michelle and I are meeting with our professor tomorrow to discuss our paper, so we have a lot to finish before we can send it in for inspection today at noon. Wish me luck, and have a wonderful day everyone!
Hi guys! A have some very exciting news :D Today I finally ordered a camera! I have wanted one for several years but I have always postponed a purchase. I find them very pricy, and it definitely hurts my bank account, but I am sure it will be worth it!
The one that I have ordered is a Nikon D3100 and it has everything that a newbie like me could need in a camera. It has gotten very good reviews online so I am really excited to try it out!
This lovely thing will hopefully be arriving later this week. I can’t wait!
Good morning guys! I’m at the University waiting for Michelle to arrive so that we can continue on our essay that is due in about a month! We have about 27 pages right now, and we have to get that up to about 45-50, so we have our work cut out for us! While I’m waiting I thought I’d share another one of my favorite winter and spring nail polishes, Silver Lake.
As in my Spring favorites post, this nail polish is from Gina Tricot as well. It is a gorgeous light blue/turquoise/silver color with lots of sparkle. The way it catches the light is amazing, and I am completely in LOVE with this color.
The images doesn’t do it justice, the color is even more beautiful in real life. The turquoise aspect doesn't really show through in the pictures, it looks more silver here. This nail polish is in the same price range as the last one I told you about, and it is really inexpensive. I also think that it last just as well as more expensive nail polishes so you do get a good product for a low cost.
The cool icy color makes this the perfect shade for both winter and spring, and I also think it can work in the summer if you pair it with the right outfit :) I’m not sure if you still can find this shade in stores, because I did buy it this winter, but on the website they have this similar shade called Blue Bug, which is the same metallic turquoise but with less sparkle. But if you do find Silver Lake in stores I definitely recommend it, or if you find another shade that you like; grab it! Because they don’t seem to stay in stores that long.

Hi guys! Since I got such god response on my earlier post about 5 tips for clear skin, I thought I’d do a similar post, but this time on how to get rid of cravings.
When I decided to create a healthier lifestyle for myself I thought that it would be really hard to get rid of the cravings for all of the delicious but bad things that I enjoyed to eat, such as chocolate, but interestingly enough I saw great results in that department without having to try very hard. Today I am going to share a few tips that will help you getting rid of those bad cravings, so that you can live a healthier life and treat you body the way it deserves to be treated.
These are all tips that I live by and that I have done some research into. This is what helps for me, and hopefully you will find them useful as well :)
1. Eat for your body, not your mind. If you are craving a chocolate bar, for example, it is your mind that thinks it wants it, not your body. Your body is in need of vitamins and nutrients, not overly processed food with a lot of sugar or chemicals. By filling your craving with something that your body really needs and wants instead of what your mind thinks it wants, your body will feel satisfied and the craving sensation will go away. It might not be as mentally satisfying as eating that chocolate bar, but your body will feel much better and in time you won’t even be craving that bar of chocolate any more. So by feeding your body good things it gets smarter, and after a while it will stop craving the bad stuff and instead crave the good.
This happens far quicker than you might expect. Just after one and a half week of eating healthier I stopped craving stuff that I use to absolutely love, and when I did eat something unhealthy that I was craving I felt that the taste of it was very displeasing and I just didn’t care for it anymore.
2. Eat regularly. Feeding your body regularly, about every three hours, keeps your blood sugar level in check and you won’t feel such an urge for something unhealthy. Try to eat foods that are low in glycemic value; like broccoli, salmon and cucumbers, foods that your body digest slowly; like avocado, whole grains or lentils, or foods that regulates the blood sugar level; like almonds, cinnamon and green tea.
3. Snack smartly! There is nothing wrong with snacking. If you do it right you can have several snacks throughout the day between the larger meals. Snack on fruit and nuts, or why not carrot sticks? This way you can stay away from candy bars, cookies, chips or whatever you think you’re craving. My favorite snack right now is a banana and a handful of almonds. I bring that with me every single day that I’m going off to school to snack on between breakfast and lunch, and it has helped me a lot with my cravings!
4. Drink water! Sometimes your body mistakes hunger for thirst, so by drinking a glass of water when you feel the urge to eat something you know you shouldn’t your body might feel satisfied without the unnecessary sugar, fat or calories. Drinking a lot of water also makes your skin more radiant and beautiful and you will both feel and look much better.
5. Keep all unhealthy foods out of your home! If you buy things that you know you will crave but really shouldn’t eat it is much more likely that you will. By keeping these things in your cabinets, fridge or freezer you are just destining yourself to fail. By keeping unhealthy foods or snacks out of your home you give yourself a better chance of resisting your carvings, because if you for example want ice cream but you have to go to the store to get it, the chances are that you will be better at resisting the urge than if you have it right there in your freezer.
6. Brush your teeth. This might seem odd, but I find that when you have that fresh minty taste in your mouth that you get after brushing your teeth eating something like chocolate or chips doesn’t seem as appealing. Of course you could also chew gum, but I find that even though chewing gum will provide you with that mint fresh taste, the chewing motion can trick your stomach into thinking that you’re eating and it will be displeased when it doesn’t receive any food. So I prefer brushing my teeth over chewing gum, but that’s a personal preference.
So that’s my 6 top tips! I hope that you find them useful and that you feel that you can integrate one or more of them into your own life. Remember to treat your body with respect and to give it the fuel that will make it the best it can be. Your body really is a reachable thing and it’s the only own you got, and will ever have, so treat it right!

Hi guys! Today is a fantastic day! The sun is shining and I am feeling incredibly happy and full of life! I have been out for almost two hours soaking up the sunlight and I feel amazing! I hope that this lovely weather is here to stay and that this endless winter we have had this year is finally over. Otherwise we won’t have any spring before it’s the summertime.
I just feel so much more energized when the sun is out, like nothing can ruin my good mood. It felt great to lie in the sun and let my skin soak up the sunlight. I hope it will help to clear up some of those breakouts I got from trying out those new skincare products I talked about in my previous post. At least I got some new freckles on my face :)
Nature can work wonders on body, mind and soul! And speaking of nature’s wonders… When I went to congratulate my mother on her birthday yesterday I bought her this incredibly beautiful orchid that I thought I just had to show you guys! Orchids are one of my absolute favorite flowers, I especially love the big white once and the once with the purple stains that makes them look poisonous. I just think orchids are so majestically beautiful, in both shape and texture. And the coloring is just amazing on this one!

Good morning guys! My boyfriend and I went away early this morning to go to Karlstad, the town where we both are from. We are here to visit friends and family. Later tonight I’m going to congratulate my mother on her birthday that was this Wednesday.
This morning we were supposed to visit a hotel for a breakfast buffet, but we ran a little late this morning so we got here to late for that because it closed at 9.30 am. So instead we went to this place called Kaviar, which servers a breakfast buffet every day of the week. It was a little smaller than I had expected, but the food tasted okay.
I had some wholegrain bread with salami and turkey, some veggies and an hardboiled egg. I also had some wholegrain cereal with nuts and shredded coconut, a glass of orange juice and some pancake with whipped cream and jam.
They also had fruit, coffee and tea, and of course scrambled eggs with bacon and sausages, which my boyfriend feasted on.
A breakfast buffet really is a luxury for an everyday morning, but sometimes you have to treat yourself to something nice :) What is your favorite way to bring some luxury into your everyday life? Tell me in the comments :)

I know I am probably the last one on the planet to discover this, but if you right click on a song in Spotify you can choose an option called ”Start Radio”, and Spotify will find song similar to the song you clicked on. This way you can discover new bands and artists and find new song that you probably never would have heard otherwise.
I have found a fair few great songs this way and discovered new bands. Today I found this song “Your Winter” by Sister Hazel. I think this song is amazing! As soon as he started singing I got goose bumps and had to find out what song it was. I am a complete sucker for raspy voices, I just melt. All the artists and bands that I listen to and love have really unique voices, and I love those who are slightly different. To me different is beautiful ♥

Hi guys! Right now I’m at school. Michelle and I are working on our essay where we analyze gender roles and stereotypes in commercials for Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Light and Coca-Cola Zero. Right now I am focusing on a very resent commercial from Coca-Cola Light called “The Gardener”. Have you guys seen it? I think it is hilarious and a really great commercial! So funny! One thing though, have you noticed that the girl never gets the guy in Coca-Cola Light commercials, but in the ones for Coca-Cola Zero the guy always gets the girl, and sometimes two :P Isn’t that unfair?
Hi guys! I have recently tried two new skin care product because I wanted to clear up my skin. When I was I suffered from a lot of breakouts, but as I grew older they kind of subsided to only a few. It got much more manageable and I didn’t feel self-conscious about my skin any more. Then a few months ago, just before the new years I started switching out some of my skin care products for 100% natural ones to be kinder to my skin. I found a few that works really well, but one problem I had was that my skin didn’t get clean enough so I got hundred of tiny tiny bumps in my face that made me look ridiculous, especially when I was wearing liquid foundation.
I started searching for new products and I found two new face cleansers to help me deal with that problem. Within just a few days of using the first one all the bumps had disappeared and my skin was back to normal again. But a few weeks later I stared using two products that I bought from Amazon that I had heard a lot of great things about on YouTube and blogs: the Aztec Indian healing clay and the Nutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask. The Aztec Indian healing clay is a 100% natural clay mask that fights impurities in your skin and deep cleans it. It is supposed to bring all of your impurities out from your skin and fight it, so after you have used it a number of times you will have clear, great looking skin.
The Nutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask has benzoyl peroxide in it, which is a treatment for acne. You can use it as an everyday cleanser or as a deep cleansing mask to clear your skin.
The thing is, that after I used the Aztec Indian healing clay the first time I got a few breakouts as a result of it. I thought that this probably was because the clay had brought the impurities from underneath my skin up to the surface and didn’t think so much about it. I used it once more that week and since I have used it once a week for two weeks, so I have used it 4 times total over three weeks time. I have also used the Nutrogena Clear Pore as a cleanser every day for about two weeks or so, and the weird thing is that my skin is now worse than it has ever been!
I have tried to find bad reviews on both these products but have come up empty handed. Sooo many people rave about how great the the Aztec Indian healing clay is and that they have used it for months or years and never are going to let it go. Some has said that they did get a few breakouts initially, but that it subsided quickly. When it comes to the Nutrogena Clear Pore cleanser I haven’t heard anyone give it a bad review or say that they broke out from it.
I just don’t understand what is going on! The clay mask is 100% natual, so that’s why I am skeptical to it being the source of my new breakouts, but on the other had the Nutrogena product is supposed to fight acne, not cause it, and benzoyl peroxide has always been a great acne treatment for me. Maybe there is some other ingredient in the cleanser that my skin doesn’t like, but that is hard to know. Anyways, the point is that my forehead now looks horrible and I got breakouts on parts of my face that I never had had before. It has been a fast transformation from only a few breakouts to a massive amount, as I said more than I have ever had. That’s why I find it hard to believe that it is only impurities from underneath my skin that has been brought to the surface, because then I would have gotten a few years worth of them in one go and that doesn’t seem possible.
Have you ever had this kind of reaction to any skin care products that you have tried? Since I don’t know which one of these products that causes my problem I don’t know which one to stop using. I’m thinking of stop using both and then when my skin has cleared up again give them both a separate try to see how my skin reacts. The sad thing is that I only wanted to clear my skin up, and now it has goon from the best it has ever been to the worst in matter of days! It makes me feel really bad and sad, because now it will probably take me months to get my skin back to the way it was before I started with these two products.
I’m thinking about using Basiron again. It is the far best treatment I have ever used for breakouts! It also had benzoyl peroxide in it and once I started using it around the age of 15 it really did wonders for my skin, and I used it all the way until I was about 18-19. Then I stopped because I got tired of always having to have white towels, the Basirone bleaches fabric so if you don’t use white towels or bed linen you will get nasty pinkish stains on them. My skin had also cleared up a lot by then I didn’t feel as big of a need for the product. But now, when I look like I have breakouts freckles all over my face, I’m thinking of buying a new tube. The price has gone up a lot since I first started to use it, originally it was 79 sek and now it has gone up to about 139 sek for the stronger kind. But it really is a great product and it last fairly long, so if you think of how long it will last you and the good result you will receive then the price doesn’t seem so bad after all. You can buy Basiron at pharmacies but sometimes they only have the one with 5% benzoyl peroxide in the shelves and you have to ask for the one with 10%.

Hi guys! Here is a recipe that I made for dinner yesterday. It is 100% wheat and dairy free, so if you are looking for some inspiration in that department, or just want a nice soup, here is how you make it.
It is a very simple recipe, and you can customize it to incorporate the veggies you prefer, but this is how I made it. The recipe makes 2 big portions.
Cut one red pepper, half an orange pepper, one red onion and half a zucchini into big chunks. Cut 4 tomatoes in half. Place the tomatoes in the back of a covered baking tray and sprinkle them with some sukrin. Sukrin is a natural sweetener without calories that doesn’t affect your blood sugar level. It has the same appearance and texture as ordinary sugar so it can be used from everything from baking to cooking.
Add the rest of the veggies to the baking tray and spread them out evenly. Also, add some garlic cloves and season the veggies with salt, black pepper and some rosemary. Roast in the over for about 25 minutes until the veggies are cooked and have some nice color to them. Stir the veggie chunks every 10 minutes or so to get an even coloring.
When the veggies are roasted, add most of them to a food processor or a blender, but save some for garnish. Add a squirt of lemon and mix the veggies until the consistency is smooth. This make a thicker, almost pure like soup in consistency, so if you want a thinner soup you can add some water and mix until blended.
Chop the left over veggies into smaller pieces and place them on top of the soup as garnish. Now it’s ready to serve!

The person I am going to talk about today is Shay Mitchell.
If you’re a fan of hers you will surely recognize her form the “Pretty Little Liars” TV show, which is currently on filming its 4th season in the US. I don’t know why, but that show sucks me in! For you who hasn’t seen it it’s a teen drama about four girls; Aria, Hannah, Emily and Spencer, who gets harassed by a group of people that calls themselves “A”. This “A” person has been on their cases ever since their friend Alison went missing and was killed (allegedly). From the beginning it has been my theory that Alison is the one that’s behind the whole thing, but time will tell. Anyway, this show is kind of over the top and dramatic, but somehow it’s addicting :P Shay Mitchell plays the role of Emily, who has had a lot of ups and downs throughout the seasons.

I just find her so inspiring! I love her style and I think she is one of the most beautiful young actresses currently out there. She has a great personality and she always looks flawless. I just can’t wait to see what more she will tackle after “Pretty Little Liars”. In my previous post I shared a workout video for toning up your booty fro “Tune it up Tuesdays” on the YouTube channel “Live strong Woman”. Today I’m going to share another one of their videos called “Sleek & Slender Abs”, which I always pair with the booty and legs workout video. They actually mention this video at the end of the previous one, so if you have checked that one out maybe you have already seen this one, but I like it so much that I want to make sure you guys hear of it :)
The video is a mix of exercises for your abs, but you also get to work your arms, legs and back. This is why I enjoy both of these workout videos so much, you get a full body workout, especially if you combine these two.
For this video thy encourage you to use dumbbells for a few of the exercises. They are mostly used as a support and not because of their weight, so if you don’t have any dumbbells you can use two half liter water bottles filled with water, that’s what I do :)

Good morning guys! Right now I’m browsing the web for dairy and wheat free recipes. My skin has been acting out lately and ever since I found out that dairy and wheat products can have bad effects on your skin, I have been wondering how big of a difference I would notice if I excluded these things from my diet. So I have been looking for some new recipes to try out that does not contain any of these products.
I am not sure how well I will tackle this challenge. I don’t eat much wheat anymore, I have substituted most of that for whole grain products, but even whole grains can affect your skin so I thought that I would cut them out as well. I am a huge bread lover, so that’s why I think this will be really hard. I think I’m really going to miss my bread!
But I actually think that cutting out the dairy will be much harder. Since I don’t eat many wheat or whole grain products besides from bread, then in that category bread will be the only thing I have to abstain from. Put in the dairy department there are so many more things that I eat on a daily basis, such as cheese, butter and yoghurt, so I don’t really know how I’m gonna manage without it. But the fact of the matter is that a lot of people these days are allergic or at least sensitive to both wheat and dairy, so therefore there are hundreds of recipes out there to find. And if other people can be without wheat and dairy, then so can I. The only difference is that I’m making the choice myself.
Some of you might protest to cutting things out from your daily food intake. Like dairy products for example. Milk is I great source for calcium, and we do need calcium, don’t we? Yes, we do. But there are a bunch of other food sources that contains high calcium levels, such as almonds, broccoli and spinach. Here is a list of 12 vegetables that are high in calcium, if you too are thinking about cutting dairy, or have to because of allergies.
I have found a few new recipes that look promising, and after I have tried them out I’ll post them here on the blog and give them a full review, whether they a successful or not so much. Today I think I’m gonna start with some chicken with ratatouille. I have always wanted to try ratatouille but have never gotten around to it. But I think I’ll make mine myself and keep the rats out of the kitchen :P (Disney reference, lol).

Hi guys! Thank God it’s Friday :D Finally this weekend is here and I plan to enjoy it to the best of my abilities! Starting with this yummy dinner; Roasted chicken with chili and garlic marinated oven grilled vegetables. This is an easy and delicious recipe, perfect for a Friday night with family or friends. Gather the people you love most around the table and serve this lovely meal, and I guarantee you a good evening.
To make this dish, cut some zucchini and red and orange peppers into even sized pieces. Put them in a plastic bag. Into a small bowl, pour some about half a deciliter of olive oil and add salt, black pepper and dried chili flakes. Add a large clove of pressed garlic and combine into a nice marinade. Pour the marinade over the veggies in the plastic bag and tie a knot at the end of it. Toss the veggies until are evenly coated with the marinade and leave it to rest in the fridge for at least an hour. The longer you wait, the more taste the veggies will soak up from the marinade.
Season some chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, chicken spice and garlic powder. Put them on a baking tray covered with baking paper. Put the marinated veggies around the chicken, and cook for about 25 minutes at 200°C. After the 25minutes, remove the chicken from the oven and turn the oven setting to grill mode. Grill the veggies for 5-10 minutes until they have gotten some nice color.
Serve the chicken and the grilled vegetables with a salad made with some mixed greens, baby tomatoes and cucumber dressed with walnut oil and seasoned with some salt, black pepper and Italian salad spice. Serve a splash of Greek yoghurt as a cool and fresh sauce.

Good morning guys! Yesterday I fell asleep with my contacts still in. So my eyes are a little frustrated with me this morning, but it will soon pass. I wear my contacts so seldom that sometimes I forget to take them out :P
This morning I made oatmeal with apples and cinnamon for breakfast. It’s a really simple recipe and it’s so delicious! I make mine in the microwave so I like to make it in a mug so that I won’t burn my hand when I take it out. Just a tip :) To learn how to make it, keep reading below :)
Into a mug, or a bowl if you prefer, put 1 deciliter of fiber oats, a pinch of salt, some flax seeds and some cinnamon. Mix the ingredients together and add 2 deciliter of water. Mix again and cook in the microwave for 2 minutes at 700W.
While it’s cooking, dice half a red apple into cubes. When the oatmeal is ready, stir and let it rest for about half a minute and then put the apples on top. Serve with some milk, either on the oatmeal itself or in a glass on the side. I prefer to have mine on the side, because I don’t care for the texture that the oatmeal gets when you mix it with milk, but that’s a personal preference :)

Hi guys! I have just finished watching "Finding Nemo" with my boyfriend. Today is a quiet evening in the couch, I love those evenings :) I don't know how many times I have seen this movie, probably too many to count. My friends and I were obsessed with it a few years back, but then I sort of got tired of it and didn't watch it for a few years. But tonight it felt like it was time to watch it again :) This was the first time I've seen it in English though, and I have to say that I defiantly prefer the Swedish version! it's just sooo much funnier! But I guess that's the way it is, the version you're used to is the one you like the best.
I think Disney movies are great, because you never get too old for them. Some might be embarrassed to admit that they like those movies, but not me :) One of my absolute favorites is "Tangled" (the English version), I just love that movie and I have seen it too many times. I also love "Up" (also the English version), but that one is so sad in the beginning that I dread watching it.

Hi guys! When I entered the university library this morning and had just said hello to Michelle, my phone started ringing. From the moment I heard it, butterflies started rumbling around in my stomach. I had walked to school accompanied by Carl who was going to the gym and he had left his phone at home so I knew that it wasn’t him calling, and since it’s him calling me 99,9% of all the calls I receive, I had this instant feeling that it would be someone from the wanted ads calling. And it was!
I had a conversation with a man named Peter who called from one of the job applications I filled out yesterday. He wanted to ask me some questions and I answered to the best of my ability. It was really hard to hear what he said, but I hope I gave him all the answers I wanted.
I don’t think I’ll be getting this job because he said that they were looking for someone with ‘commercial experience’, but that he would consider me in the future. I am just so stumped that he bothered to call at all. I mean, I have applied for 40+ jobs here in Sweden throughout the years and no one has ever contacted me, even to say that the spot has been filled, so to have someone call the next day after I filled out the application just gob smacks me.
I hope that I will hear from the other companies as well. Maybe then it wouldn’t come as a shock to me and I will be able to present myself better.
I just hate the fact that everyone these days want someone with work experience, so if you have never had a job you can’t get one. Do you guys have any tips on what to say during an interview to make up for lack of employment? I would be ever so grateful for tips! I have done websites for people who have employed me, but I have never worked for a company that designs websites. Isn’t that also work experience? I think that should count! How did you guys land your first real job?
Good morning guys! No workout for me this morning, some days the body has to rest! Instead I’m enjoying this bad boy for breakfast; a fruit plate with green apples, oranges, different color grapes, banana and kiwi. I’ve paired this with some almonds and a hardboiled egg, a sturdy breakfast :)
Today I’m going back to school after what seems like a long “break”. It been almost two weeks since, and even though I’ve worked from home it seems like a long time to be out of school. My friend Michelle and I are working on our final essay before I graduate, so it is important work. No passing essay, no graduation. But the work is coming along fine and at this stage I’m not worried. But we have to see what our teacher has to say when we have our first meeting with her sometime later this week on in the beginning of next.
Some of you might find it geeky to feel excited about going back to school, but for the past two weeks I have been pretty much cooped up at home, working on different projects and keeping busy, so it feels nice to have somewhere specific to go where I actually dress up in something less comfortable than sweatpants and put on makeup. I don’t think I have worn makeup in the past one and a half weeks! I don’t think it’s necessary for running errands and going to the grocery store. So it will be fun wearing some again, because it is something that I enjoy :)
Since I’m going back to school I guess there won’t be time for me to update the blog this early in the morning as much, but I promise to keep you guys posted on what’s going on in my life ;)
Now I’m going to finish my breakfast and then head on over to my closet to see if I have anything to wear today. Probably not, isn’t that always how it feels?
Today has been a nervous and at the same time exiting day. On the way to the grocery store I popped a question that from that moment on has festered in my mind. Ever since my boyfriend and I got together almost six years ago he has told me that he wants to move abroad one day. I had always seen this as something you think and dream about but that never happens, until a few months ago when we stared to talk about moving to England. My boyfriend originally wanted to move someplace warmer than Sweden, like Spain or France, but I always insisted on it being a country that spoke English, since it is a language we both know by heart. So we started planning moving to England. I absolutely love England. Ever since I visited London for the first time in February 2009 I have never been able to let go of that pulling feeling that constantly wants to drag me back there. Since then I have visited London on two more occasions, most recently in November 2012, but still I have this longing feeling of going back there. So a few weeks ago there was a seminar down town about how it is living and working in the UK. Of course we went, but afterwards it felt like there were a few, but important, things that made a move to England difficult. The low living standard and high prices is discouraging, and the high unemployment rate isn’t making things better. So we put our plans of moving on hold, and I haven’t really thought about it much since. But today, on the way to the grocery store, a thought hit me. Malta. I have no idea where it came from, it just sort of came to me. I said to Carl: “Hey, why don’t we move to Malta?” So whilst running up and down the aisles at the fruit section at Lidl we googled facts about living and working in Malta, and everything we found was good! The weather is awesome, the rates are low and living costs are low as well. It is absolutely beautiful and since it is an EU country there would be no problem for us to move there. We also checked out the job scene and within the first few minutes I found 9 jobs in my area, 5 of which I am allegeable to apply for! Suddenly everything felt so real and so possible. There wasn’t really any reason why we couldn’t or shouldn’t move. Both of us will graduate this June and since the job market isn’t really great here we have nothing to lose. So I did it. I applied for those 5 jobs! I know that the chance is very slim that they will even read my application, but still it feels so exiting! Right now I just feel like packing a bag and leaving. I really have nothing here tying me up and I would love to make a life and a career for myself in a country that has 300 days of sun each year and where the water is a lovely turquoise color and the temperature is 17°C in the wintertime! In some ways this seems like an unrealistic, very big dream. And at the same time, it all seems so possible. Well, I’ve heard that you should dream big or not dream at all. I guess I chose to dream big. Does this make any sense or do I seem crazy to you guys? Leave me a comment and tell me your thoughts on the subject, some guidance would be much appreciated right now!
Hi guys! Here is an update on the Greek bread I made yesterday. It turned out really nice, though slightly more dense than when I make it with wheat or spelt flour. This bread has a hard, crunchy crust and a softer center. A sturdy bread that keeps you full longer :)
To make this, put 100 grams of yeast in a bowl. Add 1 liter of warm water, 2 teaspoons of salt and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add half a deciliter of sunflower seeds and combine.
Add about 700 grams of rye flour and about 500 grams of sifted rye flour. Combine into a nice dough, add more of the sifted rye flour when needed.
Let the dough rest for 30 minutes under a kitchen towel. Then, knead the dough and let it rest for one more hour underneath the towel.
Knead the bread again and form two loafs. Make sure that they are long, thin and high, because the bread tends to spread out later. Put the loafs on a baking tray and, if you want to, cut diagonal slits in the top of them. Let the loafs rest underneath a kitchen towel for one more hour. After this, the loafs should have increased in width.
While the loafs are resting this one last time, heat the oven up to 275°C. When the loafs are done resting, bake the bread furthest down in the oven for 10 minutes. After this, put some tinfoil over the loafs and lower the heat to 200°C. Bake the loafs for another 50 minutes with heat coming from above.
Once the 50 minutes are up, remove the bread from the oven and spray some cold water on the crust. Let the bread cool down under a kitchen towel before you cut into it.
As I said in my previous post, this bread takes quite some time to make. But it is worth it :)
Now moving on to today’s breakfast. After my morning workout I made this breakfast with one slice of the bread mentioned in the recipe above, with some butter, mixed greens and pepper salami. To this I had a hardboiled egg and a banana-mango-avocado smoothie. It was the first time I made this smoothie, but I quite like it :) it has a thicker consistency than what I’m used to, but it was very soothing and easy to make.
To make this smoothie for two, just add half an avocado, one diced up mango and two diced up bananas to a blender, and mix until smooth.

Hi guys! How’s your Monday so far? Mine has been very slow and I haven’t really done much of anything today. My back was hurting like crazy when I woke up this morning so for a few hours I could do nothing but to lie down and rest. Now it’s better though, so I thought I’d do something productive with the rest of my Monday :)
I’m going to bake some more bread. Even though I just made some last week I still want more, but a different kind this time. I am going to try to make a rye version of my favorite bread, which is a Greek bread that I usually make with wheat flour. It’s quite a long process to make this bread, but it is definitely worth it! If you want to check it out I have a Swedish version of the original reciperight here. All I’m going to do is switch half of the wheat flour for rye flour, and the other half for sifted rye flour. I have made this recipe with spelt instead of wheat flour before, and that worked out great! I just hope that it will be as good with rye :)

Hi guys! Yesterday evening my boyfriend and I went into town to feed the ducks, as I mentioned in my earlier post. We had bought some bread at a nearby convenient store that we brought with us. When we started throwing them pieces of it, mass hysteria broke out! We were soon surrounded, not only by ducks, but by some type of seagull bird that I had never seen there before. I don’t know what kind they are, but they have white bodies, black faces and red beaks. And LOUD voices!
So we fed both the ducks and the seagulls. We didn’t see any baby ducklings though, but maybe it’s too early in the springtime for that. We did see one of the male ducks biting the back feathers of a female one, grabbing a firm grip of her and hanging on to them while she was trying to get away from him. We suspected that that maybe had something to do with their mating ritual, but it still looked very uncomfortable. The animal world can be very cruel sometimes.
I didn’t manage to get a good picture of the mass hysteria or the seagulls, but some of the ducks were willing to pose for us :) Here was a particularly brave one, who definitely liked getting his picture taken. He was also brave enough to eat out of my hand several times, along with a few others.
After we had given them most of the bread we saw a sign that said that the municipality wants people to be careful when they feed the ducks and not give them more than they finish, since that can cause problems with rats. That wouldn’t be a problem in our case though, because there wasn’t a single crumb left of our bread once we left. Both the ducks and the seagulls dived on the bread pieces like vultures, so I would be really surprised if there was any leftovers for the rats :P

Annie Jaffery is a YouTuber and blogger who writes about how to live a healthier lifestyle when it comes to food, exercise and beauty. I have learned so much from her in the few weeks that I have followed her blog, and I really recommend that you check it out!
Annie writes and vlogs about exercise and healthy food tips. She gives great advice on how to change your life for the better and how to succeed. Her motto is “You are the CEO of your own life”, you have to make your own decisions and only you are responsible for how you treat your body.
Annie gives great skin care tips, makeup tutorials and so much more. For me, who has just started on this journey to turn my life around, it is vital to have these sources of inspiration to keep you going. Annie and her posts are very motivational and encouraging, and she really cares about her followers and treats them as her friends. Every time I visit her blog and read a new post or watch one of her videos I feel energized and ready to continue on this new path of mine. She really lifts my spirit if I’m having a rough day and I can always count on her for great tips and inspiration.

Good morning! Right Now I’m having my breakfast in the morning sun. I always try to get my workout done around 8 so that I can have breakfast while the sun is passing by my kitchen window. It gets really warm and bright, I can hardly see my computer screen right now, but it’s the best feeling in the world soaking up the sunlight. Since it really isn’t that warm outside, it’s a nice getaway to a warmer place :)
My breakfast this morning is a fruit pate of banana, pineapple, kiwi, oranges and passion fruit. A really good and tasty way to kick-start your day! What did you guys have for breakfast today?
Later today my boyfriend and I are going inot town to feed the ducks :) They are so cute and grateful creatures and it was a long time since I paid them a visit. Maybe we’ll get to see some baby ducks that has just hatched? That would be so adorable!
Today I’m also going to work on my web design project that I showed you in my earlier post. I hope to make some real progress today before the new week is here.

Hi guys! Today I’d thought I’d share five tips on how to get clear skin. As you know, there are millions and millions of skin care products out there on the market, and all of them specializes on different areas and work for different skin types. Finding the products that work for you can be really hard, but there are things you can do to clear up your skin that that does not provide the use of these many different skin products. Today I thought I’d share these tips with you :)
These are all simple things that you can incorporate into your everyday life to get clearer, more radiant skin. 1. Drink lots and lots of water! This will bring your skin moister from within and you will definitely see a clear difference in your skin if you drink more water. You will have to use the bathroom every hour or so, but it is definitely worth it! 2. Keep your skin clean and moisturized. Make sure that you clean your face thoroughly so that all your makeup and dirt is removed. Moisturize your face to keep it from drying out. Also make sure not to touch your skin with dirty fingers. Always make sure your hands are clean when you put on your makeup or touch your face during the day. 3. Eat lots of fruit, vegetables and good fats. Fruits, berries and vegetables contain a lot of vitamins and antioxidants that are great for your skin. Blueberries and pomegranate for example has lots of antioxidants. Good fats are found in fish like salmon (omega 3, 6 and 9) and in nuts and avocado. Foods like wheat and dairy can also mess up your skin, especially dairy since it contains hormones that mess with your hormone balance, which can cause acne. Breakouts from dairy products usually present around the mouth and jaw line, some if you have a lot of breakouts in those areas or are sensitive to dairy products in general, your skin might benefit from cutting dairy products from your daily food intake. 4. Let your skin breath! Only wear makeup when you’re going out and wash it off once you get home and won’t be doing anything special. You don’t have to wear makeup all day every day. Let your skin breath, and as I said before, make sure it’s thoroughly cleaned. 5. Give your face some sunlight! Sunlight provides the skin with vitamin D and for me it works wonders on imperfections like breakouts. Just make sure to use sunscreen if you are going to expose your skin to a lot of sun, to prevent the harmful UV-light, skin cancer and premature ageing.

After a very long and cold winter spring is finally here :) Where I live it is still about 10°C colder than it usually is this time a year, but when I went to the store earlier this week I saw that the spring flowers had begun to bloom in the ditches, and for me that means that spring is finally here!
Even though it’s still too cold to wear my new spring jacket that I bought a couple of weeks ago, there are still a few spring inspirited things I tend to stride towards. The first of my spring favorites is this nail polish from Gina Tricot in the color 110 Pool. It’s a gorgeous pastel turquoise color, the perfect mix of blue and green.
I have to say that I really like the nail polishes from Gina Tricot. They are very inexpensive, comes in a large variety of colors, and on me they stay on just as well as more expensive nail polishes. I have a few of them, but this is the one I have worn most recently.
I’m not sure if this particular shade is still available in stores, but I could not find it online. Though they have a similar shade called “Candy Mint” which is a good substitute color. Find that shade here, along with the rest of their nail polishes that are available online.
Another spring favorite of mine, who coincidently goes extremely well with the nail polish I just mentioned, is this knitted sweatshirt from Lindex. This too has a gorgeous pastel turquoise color and fits perfectly for the more chilly spring days.
Though the sweatshirt is covered with holes it’s still quite warm. I wore this shirt with distressed black jeans and a plain white top underneath. And, of course, I paired it with the Pool nail polish and a statement necklace. You can get the sweatshirt online here.

Under the label ”About me” in the bar to your left I have written that I'm currently trying to reinvent myself and live a better, healthier life. I thought that I would dedicate this post to give you the reasons why, to tell my story.
I have always been one of those people who could eat anything and everything they wanted without gaining weight. Awesome! you think now, right? Good for you! or How unfair! The truth is, it hasn’t done me any good. I have a really great metabolism, and even though I’m grateful for that, it has caused me a lot of problems in the past. I have always been skinny, and since I entered my teens I’ve been considered “unhealthily skinny” by teachers, school nurses and doctors. For a few years my weight, or lack thereof, was a problem that followed me around everywhere I went. I was told that I wasn’t allowed to participate in the P.E lessons or any other physical activities because my body couldn’t handle it. When people start looking at you like you’re dying, it kind of freaks you out!
I have always had a small body. I’ve only grown about 2 centimeters since I was 12,(I’m 164 cm now / 5’4) and my body has in most ways stayed the same since then. When I was 16 I could still use the same jeans that I bought when I was 12, and I think that if I hadn’t thrown them away by now I still could fit in most of them. And since I always have been very small and lean, my weight wasn’t really something that I obsessed about. I looked at how my body was looking, not the number on the scale. So when person after person started telling me I was so unhealthily skinny that all I should do is sit still and eat, I didn’t know what to think.
I was used to my body looking and being like this, it had always been like this, for as long as I could remember. And now teachers, school nurses, doctors and counselors all told me I desperately needed to gain weight. At this time, I was averaging around 45-46 kg (99-101 lb), so it wasn’t really that bad in my eyes.
So I tried everything I could to gain the weight they told me I so desperately needed. I tried everything, building muscles, eating more, eating more unhealthy food, but nothing helped. When I was 17 my school nurse told me that I was the only one she knew that had ever lost weight over Christmas.
It was really hard for me not to be able to gain a few extra pounds. Having someone looking at you like my school nurse looked at me, constantly weighing me and talking to me in a soft, gentle voice like as either was a small child or very, very sick, messed with my mind. To me, my body felt fine. I didn’t experience any problems with it but off course I was worried about what I heard and how I was treated. But there was nothing I could do, I could not gain weight how much I ate or whatever method I tried.
It wasn’t until very recently, in the past year and a half, that I actually have been able to gain some weight. I don’t own a scale, but when we were visiting family one time I used the one they had in their bathroom. At this point I hadn’t used one in about 3 years, and guess if I was surprised to see the number 48 staring back at me! For most of you, this won’t seem like a big deal, but it really was for me. It was like once I had left all of those voices behind that was telling me that I was unhealthy and that I had to gain weight, my body could finally relax enough to actually do so. Today I go back and forth between 48-50 kg (105-110 lb), which seems to be my new standard weight. Some people may say that this is still not enough, but for me it’s as “heavy” as I have ever been. Something to remember is that weight is a struggle for most people during some part of their life, and not only for those who wants to lose some!
I still follow the philosophy that I had when I was younger; look at how your body looks, and not what the scale sais! I think this is important, weather you feel you weigh too much or too little. The fact is that muscles weigh more than fat, so sometimes the number on the scale can be very misleading.
Well, this was a bit about my past, now let’s talk about the now, and about the future. Even though I theoretically could eat whatever I wanted without it affecting the appearance of my body, that doesn’t mean that it won’t affect the inside of it. I have several times through my 22 year long life started to exercise. I have never liked sports, so I have done other things, like running for example. But it has always come to an end, sooner or later. I think that the problem has been that I wasn’t working out for the right reasons. I did it because I felt I had to, or that I was supposed to. And that is where I failed.
Now, I exercise because I want to treat my body the way it deserves to be treated. I want my body to be the best it can be, inside and out. So now I focus on finding ways to work out that are fun! Exercise doesn’t have to be about forcing yourself to do something you really don’t want to, just because you think you should. It’s about exploring interests and exploring your body. It’s about getting to know yourself and push your limits, to be the best that you can be.
I also think a lot about what I eat. What you fuel your body with is essential to both how you will feel about yourself and how you will look. It’s simple, really; if you give it crap, it will fell like crap. So I try to feed my body good things, and as with the exercise, it’s about exploring new possibilities, new tastes and find new inspiration.
Most people in today’s society puts a lot of focus on appearance, both their own and others. Most often, people who doesn’t know you will judge you and base their first impression of you based on how you look. This seems really harsh and shallow, but it is a fact. And, most people do seem to care a lot about taking care of that outer appearance, to make sure that they do their very best to look their very best. My thought in all of this is, if you put such importance on how you look on the outside, why not do that same to your inside? Why not treat the insides of your body with the same respect, effort and appreciation as your appearance? For me, these two go hand in hand. If you feel great on the inside, it will show on your outside. And if you don’t treat your body right, that will show through, no matter how much makeup and expensive clothing you try to mask it with.
So that is why I exercise, why I try to eat health and why I try to use as many natural beauty products as I can – to treat my body with the respect that it deserves so that it can be the best that it can be, so that I can be the best I can be.
Treat your body right – it’s the greatest thing you got!
Now that I have shared my background with you guys you might have a better understanding to why I write this blog. I want to share the things and people that inspire me to live a better life, and my hopes are to spread some of that inspiration to all of you. Hi guys! I have just finished my morning workout and I am proud to announce that I have reached one of my goals in exercising. Today I managed to work out for 45 minutes straight on my Orbitrek Elite :)
For you who don’t know what an Orbitrek is, it’s a crosstrainer (Elliptical trainer) from the online company Tvins. I bought mine about one and a half year ago and it’s one of the best investments I’ve made! Since I prefer to work out at home this machine has helped me so much. I absolutely HATE running, but working out on one of these is far more comfortable. I usually use it twice a week while I watch an episode of some TV show. I think it makes the workout so much easier when the brain can focus on the storyline on the TV instead of on how badly you want to get off the machine :P
Well, I usually average 30 minutes of actual workout time during an episode that’s 42-43 minutes long, but today I was able to go the whole episode without stopping, and I continued for a few more minutes so that my timer stopped on 45 minutes. I hope I can keep this up, but it probably won’t be as easy next time :P

This one is a little more expensive than the one I bought, but it is less expensive than most similar products on the market. Mina has a really good quality and I have never had any problems with it. I like that it is very gentle on your knees, which usually isn’t the case with running, and it doesn’t only work you legs, but your entire body. You get your legs, your arms and your abs a great workout with this product! And don’t worry about the size of it, you can easily dismount the handles to make it easier to store.

Hello again! Now I have finished the bread, tasted it, and am ready to give it a full review :) This is how mine turned out. I expected them to rise slightly higher and for the consistency to be slightly more airy. These became more compact than I expected but the taste was great! My boyfriend and I both loved them, I had mine with some butter, mixed greens, pepper salami and a slice of cheese. Yum!
I changed a few things from the original recipe that I posted earlier, so here is my version:
You need: 50 grams of yeast, 5 dl milk, 50 grams of butter, ½ dl honey, 2 tsp salt, 6 dl rye flour, 6 dl sifted rye flour, about 3 dl spelt, 1 tbs flax seeds, 1 ½ tbs sunflower seeds, 4 organic dried apricots,
For garnish: ½ dl of mixed flax seeds, sunflower seeds and oats.
Melt the butter in a pot and add the milk. Heat the mixture up until it’s 37°C (this is very important for the yeast!). Crumble the yeast into a big bowl and add the milk mixture. Stir together.
Add the salt, the honey, the seeds and the finely chopped apricots and stir until well combined.
Add both types of rye flour and combine into a sticky dough. Add the spelt a little at the time, just enough so that the dough is a bit sticky but still workable. Combine into a nice dough and leave it to rest under a kitchen towel for 40 minutes.
After the dough has rested an about doubled in size, remove it from the bowl and knead it with some more of the spelt until it’s nice and firm. Line a oven tray of about 30x35 cm with baking paper and press the dough to fill the whole tray evenly.
Cut the dough into 24 squares and brush some water on top. Sprinkle the garnish and press down gently. Bake in the middle of the oven for 15-20 minutes at 225°C heat. Let the bread cool down under a kitchen towel and then brake the pieces apart.
If you compare this to the original recipe you see that I have changed it quite a bit. You can modify it to incorporate the seeds, nuts of fruits that you like, just be creative and mix and match!
Hi guys! Today I'm going to try out a new recipe for rye bread. I've been enjoying it lately so I thought I'd try to make it myself since it's a lot more affordable and you get full control of what you put in it. I like to avoid chemical substances and unnatural ingredients as much as possible and making something at home from scratch is the best option to get full control over what you put in your body.
I'm going to use this recipe, but I'm going to tweak it a little to fit my preferences. Below is the picture borrowed from the original recipe. I'll be back later to tell you how it went and to share my version of the recipe. So stay tuned for part two :)
I wanted to share this workout video with you guys! I found it on YouTube about two weeks ago and since then I've been using it twice, and I've been loving it! The first time I used it the back of my thighs hurt for the next three days, but I used it again yesterday and today I feel just fine :)
The video is from a series called "Tune it up Tuesdays", and they also have a lot of other workout videos as well. It focuses on training the areas around your butt, making it look gorgeous :) It's a really nice workout for your legs, highs and hamstrings. So far I've only tried this one out, along with an ab workout that they show in the end of this video. I've been combining the two of these into one workout, and it has been going great! :)
If you guys want to try it out I recommend that you watch the video first and try out all the different exercises before you do your real workout, because I found some of them a little tricky to get the hang of the first time I did them.
The YouTube channel that the "Tune it up Tuesdays" videos are uploaded on is called "Live Strong Woman", and they have a lot of other workout tips and videos. It's a great channel and I find these videos very inspiring, and I especially LOVE that they are free and you can use them at home.

This is a logotype I’ve created for this web design project I’m working on for my portfolio. After my graduation, which hopefully will be this June, my dream is to be able to support myself as a web designer, so right now I am trying to learn as much as I possibly can and build up a great portfolio. The project I’m working on right now is a page for a fictitious company that I have named “Wedins Media Group AB”. It is supposed to be a company that makes web pages, commercials and PR and has several different divisions.
The web page is for the staff’s use, so they log on to it and contact other members of the staff, see important meetings or other appointments in the calendar or read important messages written by the staff or de web administrator. Every staff member has their own profile where they can enter contact information, write messages and update their status when they for example go to lunch or are on maternity leave.

I still have a long way to go and maybe a hundred hours of more work to do before the web page is completely finished, but I feel great about the progress I’ve been making so far :) It’s a great feeling when you achieve something you have set your mind to, completely on your own.

After my morning workout I made a fruit plate with some banana, kiwi, oranges, pomegranate and blueberries for breakfast. I paired this with a few almonds and a boiled egg, which means I’m more than set until lunchtime!
This is just one example of a healthy breakfast. You can change it and tweak it however you want to incorporate the fruits, berries and nuts that you prefer :)

My boyfriend and I made these Easter cupcakes yesterday. Alot of crazy looking chickens!
Besides these lovely creatures there has also been alot of food. And, it is my boyfriend's birthday today so I'll have to make room in my stomach for a piece of cake later, too. How ever will I manage? :P
I went swimming yesterday at the pool close to our apartment. Out of all the different types of exercise I do, swimming is the one I enjoy the most. It’s something peaceful about it. You get to shut of your brain for a while and only be in the moment. Your entire body get’s a great work out and afterwards I feel calm and relaxed.
I try to go swimming once every week, and I usually swim 1 km. The pool is smaller than regular pools so 1 km is 60 laps. The past two weeks however there haven’t been a lot of people around when I’ve gone swimming, so yesterday and the week before that I doubled my laps, so I swam 2 km instead of one. The first kilometer I do in about 45 minutes, and the second in about 35-40. It’s nice to know my body can handle it and I feel proud of myself after I’ve been able to do so well. Swimming is the only type of exercise that I can do for one and a half hour without passing out :P
The only downside to swimming is that my hair gets messed up by the pool water. But I try to do hair masks afterwards to make up for the harsh treatment. I have thought about getting one of them swimming caps, but I don’t think I’d dare walk out on the pool area wearing one :P
I thought I’d share today’s outfit with you guys :) I’m wearing a top from H&M, paired with a pair of white, high waisted jean leggings from KappAhl. The black studded boots I bought at Primark when I was in London in November, I’ve literally been waiting for months to wear them so now that spring is almost here I took my chance! For accessories I’m wearing a ring from H&M and a cross necklace that I’ve made with pieces I bought from Pagoni.se.
My camera isn’t the best, but it will have to do for now. I’m just using a 10,1 mega pixel digital camera from Casio. I really want to by a better one but they are so darn expencive! What cameras do you guys use? Leave a comment down below :)
On a hectic Monday an easy dinner is perfect! Yesterday I scrambled together some oven roasted chicken with rice, curry sauce and a side salad, easy and delicious! To learn how to make it, keep reading below :)
Take some chicken breast, frozen or thawed, and place them in an oven safe dish. Season them up with some salt and black pepper, chicken spice and garlic powder. Cook them in the oven at 225°C for about 25-35 minutes, depending on if they’re frozen or not.
Cook the rice according to instructions on the box. For the sauce, melt some butter in a pot. When it’s melted, add some curry and let it boil for a few seconds. Heating up the curry this way releases more intense flavor. Add about a tablespoon of flour, I use wholegrain flour, and whisk. Add some 15% cream, a little at the time, and whisk while you bring the sauce up to a boil. When it’s boiling, lower the heat and let it cook for about 10 minutes, stir occasionally. Towards the end of the cooking time, ad some salt, black pepper and a hint more curry and stir.
For the salad I used some mixed greens, cucumber and baby tomatoes. For a healthy and tasty dressing, dress the veggies up in some walnut oil and season it with some salt, black pepper and Italian salad spices. Toss everything around and serve.
It really isn’t more complicated than that! Cooking the chicken in the oven gives you free hands to focus on the sauce while the bird is getting tender and juicy. This is absolutely my favorite way of cooking chicken!

I also have a passion for writing, music, cooking and living a healthy lifestyle. I'm currently trying to reinvent myself and live a better healthier life. Some days it is a struggle, like everybody else’s life mine is a rollercoaster of ups and downs, but I try to make the best of it.
